Good option for an overnight stay in Vantaa. The key code didn't always work which was a hassle. The rooms are nice, have a microwave and there are coffee machines in the lobby. Nice to get a late night or early morning hot drink.
We had a one day layover and had to catch a flight very early the next morning. We did not want to sleep at the airport as it is uncomfortable so we opted to sleep over at the Vantaa Hostel. Its the first hostel i have stayed at but was absolutely brilliant. The rooms have a TV, microwave, kettle, mini fridge, kitchen utensils, cups/mugs, plates and bowls to make your own meals. There are a few food items in the kitchen left by other residents however if you did not bring ingredients with you, it will be difficult getting something for dinner. I recommend getting food from the airport or the gas station nearby. It is a 15 minute walk from the airport however some people have said there is a free shuttle. I do not recommend a taxi as they wanted to charge us €20 for a 3 minute taxi ride. There are no workers or any sort of reception at the hostel, instead you get an email or SMS with your room number and a code. The code works on the main gate as well as your room. If you are a tourist, make sure you use the free WiFi at the airport and save the e-mail offline. There is also free WiFi available at the hostel. The rooms were clean and more than good enough for an overnight stay. There are shared showers and bathrooms but you wont run into many people as there are multiple bathrooms around so you will have some privacy. There is also cleaning supplies as well as a washing machine that you can use for laundry. There is a common room to relax and cook some food but there isnt much to do there that provides some sort of entertainment besides a TV. Overall its a good stay if you arrive very late or have a layover. Its close to the airport and is quite easy to walk. The only negative is that you can hear people open and close doors, chat in the corridors or hear footsteps if you are staying in the lower level. …
I knew beforehand that this hostel is out of the standards of being stylish, cozy and comfortable, but I just wanted to sleep over night before early flight. The place is *quite* (15 minutes walk or 5 minutes run in rain) close to airport, which is good, but it is totally unsuitable because you cannot really sleep here. The walls or so thin that you can hear all the talking of your neighbors, which there were a lot, mainly loud migrant workers who not only made huge racket in their rooms but in the corridors and lobby till 2 am when I called security. Even the basic fundamental criteria of staying in hostel, which is sleep, this place couldn't fulfill. I complained about this to Forenom, and they refunded 20%. Even though a nice gesture, it's still insufficient to compensate this awful stay at Forenom's hostel. Better to sleep the night at the airport I would say.…
This hostel is clean, safe, a good price and has great room facilities. Do not get it confused with the other Forenom Hostel which is next to this one. This Hostel is the long building with only 2 floors. The rooms are clean, safe and comfortable with great facilities - a flat screen TV, free wifi, fridge, kettle, microwave, mugs, bowls, plates and cutlery. There are a number of showers; clean, hot and powerful, each cubicle with body wash on the wall. There are washer and driers if you need to wash your clothes. The kitchen is very clean and has great facilities - 2 ovens with hobs and all crockery. Entry to the hostel and room was with a key code which I thought was fab - safe and no need to worry about a room card. There is a free shuttle bus to the airport every 15 mins which stops on the road outside the other Forenom hostel next door. The bus takes approx 5 mins to get to the airport. Then you can get the train from there into Helsinki. There is no Hostel Reception so if you have any issues you will need to contact the hostel via email or phone. I would highly recommend this Hostel, thank you for a wonderful stay. …
You can go by walk from the airport, it is really 15 minutes, as the webpage said. I think the room was OK, bathroom also clean. For more nights I wouldn't choose this, but I think it is definately to be near the airport. This system is cool, we easily went into our room without waiting any receptionist.
