The Airport Hotel Pilotti is rather convenient place for a traveller as there is free airport shuttle to and from the hotel and free car park, at least for a week. The rooms are not spacey, but the beds are good for a night's rest. In all rooms, there is a bathroom equipped with shower and toilet tub. Water in the rooms (bathroom) is drinkable, so no panic if you didn't buy an expensive bottle of water. Even if the standard rooms are small, there are a few family rooms available. The bar in the second floor is open up to midnight and breakfast is served in the third floor from three o'clock AM. Warm food, however, is served from five o'clock in the morning. We stayed one night because we had a flight the next morning and the hotel is near the airport and offers free shuttle to the airport. The room was tiny and the double bed occupied about 75% of its area. The bathroom was rather tiny as well. This room was tiny even in European standards. There was no AC as far as we could tell. The price was 170 Euros for the night, which seemed rather high in relations to the size of the room. The staff was inconsistent. We were received by courteous receptionist. However, in the morning the shuttle left 2-3 minutes before schedule, which made me miss it. The morning receptionist was quite snarky in response to my complaint. I also do apologize if we couldn't fulfill all your expectations. Our rooms just got through big renovation process and now we are trying to find out would it be possible to install airconditioning. What comes to the room rates, they vary a lot depending on demand. The cost of the same room can vary a lot from one day to the next - rates go up and down based on demand. We had a 16 hour layover after a 10-hour flight. The location for the hotel shuttle in Terminal one was sketchy but after much detective work we finally found the shuttle van. BTW: he did stop in terminal two, which could have saved our weary bones a lot of walking. Expedia lusted Terminal one as the pickup point. Go outside to the bus pickup #10 and wait. Our checkin via Expedia was smooth. Our room was right out of an IKEA showroom. No wasted space. Very comfy beds and pillows. There is an in-house restaurant but we chose to walk to the nearby Jumbo Mall where there was a wide selection of restaurants on level two. Back to the hotel: Our room was 209 and we experienced intermittent highway noise thru the night. Maybe the even numbered rooms would have less noise.

Hotelrooms were much smaller than we expect. It was clean. It looked like an asulym from the outside. Customer service was nice and the transportation was really good. All thought price was quite expensive.

We picked this hotel for the awesome sauna, but disappointed with the hours for sauna. We arrived to the hotel at 8:30 PM and the sauna was closed for women for the day. Then we thought we would take a sauna in the am. But we were told the sauna would only be open from 6 - 8 PM. Huge disappointment, since we were touring Helsinki for the day and we were not able to get home for the only open 2 hr window. Also it would have been nice if the front desk had informed us that we could have ordered bfast to go for our early morning flight.

While I wish you had better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from - in order to get better and improve. Ladies' sauna is every day from 6-8PM and mens' sauna 4-6PM and again 8-10PM. The room was small, but beds comfortable and bathroom clean. Tthere was a bar area to relax in and have a night cap and breakfast was good. So to stay one night just before or after a flight, it’s just fine.

After a while I’m back at Hotel Pilotti, which still is a convenient for a stay over before an early flight. The staff was friendly and they have an early rich breakfast and shuttle buses to the airport.

On arrival we found a dirty towel left in our room from the previous occupant, the cleaner had not removed it. The cleaner left writing paper on the desk but no pen, why? The air conditioning cannot be turned on, off or modified. It was very noisy and too cold. However the bathroom was very hot with the constant under floor heating, again which could not be turned on or off. People all have different likes and dislikes so why is everything ‘set’ for us? Why do we have to put up with air conditioning or heating we don’t want? Trying to ring reception and getting a reply is hopeless, you may as well walk there and ring the desk bell to get attention. I stayed here for one night at the end of April and I loved it. The price was cheap and I got a free bus lift to the airport. The staff was really nice and helpful and the room was perfect. Rooms were just repaired and at least my room was really nice. Nice bed, clean room with everything you need for a short stay. Bed was comfy and it was really quiet. The breakfast was really really good and the best thing is that they serve it from 3.30 am so if you are gonna catch an early flight it's perfect.
