This place is conveniently located near the airport (15 minutes by shuttle).
Rooms are OK and all common areas are very cozy.
Great breakfast (starting from very early in the morning) and restaurant.
What I liked the most was the staff: both reastaurant and reception people were great! They really made me feel like home.
I would definitely recommend this place.

Great value airport hotel. It exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a decent hotel to break a long haul connection and chose the Pilot. Staff are all really upbeat, positive and helpful. I arrived late to be greeted warmly and checked in quickly. The rooms are small but functional. There is fast WiFi, a big flat screen TV and power shower. Best of all for me was the comfortable bed ! The hotel throughout is spotlessly clean and the rooms seem renovated. Definitely recommended. Great value and I will certainly return !

The price is right. The room is small, but ok, the breakfast is excellent, the parking is free, as is the airport shuttle. The major drawback is the lack of air conditioning, which is a problem on warm summer days like when I was there. At least they provided a fan in the room!

Clean small hotel with friendly staff.

Needs major remodeling. Unfresh. Oldfashioned. Smells like an old bar (smoke). Really thin walls, you hear neighbours talk.
Shower smells like mold. Floor in room with major waterdamage.

We spent two nights at this hotel. One, in June, upon arriving on an evening flight into Helsinki and the other, July 16th, the night before a very early morning flight out. We chose this hotel because it was advertised as close to the airport, had a free shuttle, included breakfast and was reasonably priced. We weren't expecting a luxury resort but a clean, reasonably comfortable and quiet place to spend a night. That's exactly what we got.
The shuttle runs every half hour til quite late at night (our pickup was at 10 PM) and it was on time. It was about a 10 minute ride to the hotel. Check-in was friendly, professional and hassle-free. The front desk staff all spoke excellent English.
The rooms are small but very adequate for what we needed and they were certainly clean. The hotel is quiet and not on any major roads. The continental breakfast was typical Scandinavian fare (no greasy bacon and eggs) but fresh and abundant. Our flight out of Helsinki was at 6:20 AM so we appreciated that the breakfast was available from 4:00 AM onward and the first shuttle ran at 5:00 AM, ample time for us to check in for our flight.

I stayed one night at the Pilotti. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. Rooms typically small. Bathrooms very small. Breakfast was simple, but adequate. This is a useful hotel for users of Helsinki airport and as such provides good value. A shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes and takes just 5 minutes to International departures. The hotel is not ideal if you wish to visit the city of Helsinki.

1. The shuttle bus is not the general airport hotel bus but a small minivan with its own schedule
2. The hotel is shabby and the smell of old carpets/furniture is everywhere; with no proper AC/ventilation present
3. The bathroom size is ridiculous; you have to lean against toilet to access the bath sink
4. Light is poor and the room is dark
5. Breakfast is average 3 star with a poor setting
6. Value for money = 0; paying extra 50-80 EUR will get you into perfect Hilton room within a few steps from the airport terminal instead of this hangar in the forest

The bathrooms in the hotel rooms have been designed to maximize the space in the room itself as our hotel is mainly accommodating guests, who are staying only one night between flights. The improving of illumination in the guest rooms is one of our main priorities in the near future. Thorough renovation of the hotel, which has been on progress for a while already, is a long, time-requiring process which we are determined to take into completion in order provide even better experiences for our guests. Stayed here to be close to the airport and it was like going back to the 60s! The rooms were dated and the bathroom tiny and stank. We had to wear flip flops in the shower to try and avoid getting any disease. The rooms were also stinking hot so we couldnt sleep. I wouldn't recommend staying here!

This hotel, in desperate need of a renovation, charges too much and offers too little.
The 10 minute transfer from the airport to the hotel was not worth the trouble staying there. After arriving late at night, we were told that we had to choose either a 09:00 am departure or missing the morning transfer to the airport (for which we had not been informed beforehand). The manner in which we were told suggests this is common practice, meaning that although they know this surprises many guests, the management purposefully avoids informing future clients before booking.
We had the misfortune to arrive on a particularly hot day to a hot room with closed windows, smelling like it was not used for days. Particularly the 3 square meter toilet smelled dreadfully. After managing to take a small shower, the three of us settled to the cramped room (a very small double bed room with the sofa acting as the third bed) trying to stay alive in the excessive heat with the help of a 100 Watt fan.
The only two redeeming features of this hotel was the breakfast and the assistance we got from Ksenia at the reception in the morning (thank you!).
I would not return to this hotel until either a serious renovation or a significant reduction in price that would allow us the use of two rooms (but only in temperatures below 20 degrees. ..).
For the price of the room, plus the price of the taxi we were forced to take, I would rather have booked to another hotel; and I advise you to do so as well.
