Detailed Reviews
This is a really good place to stay on the shores of Lake Saimaa. It was a very nice and picturesque place to stay, the hostel is right by the water. But, it is quite far from the train station and Imatra town and rapids (hour plus walk) and there are no supermarkets nearby. There is a bus (no. 5) that goes to near the hotel from the station and the town but the timetable online is very old.
There is a big common area and kitchen, but the rooms themselves are pretty basic, mine had two single beds either side of a window and not much else other than a plug socket. Walls are quite thin.
It was good value for money as the price per night is comparatively cheap to most other places in Finland. I would stay again.
Also, the place is well signposted but google maps has the hotel in a slightly different location so use the street address.

Forest, lake, calmness and friendly staff – all these are about the hostel. The rooms are a little bit small but its ok if you come here to enjoy the nature, barbeque and beautiful natural environment. Also they are very clean and beds are very soft and convenient.

I was working in Imatra for one week and stayed in this cozy homelike hostel, practically alone on this big building. Friendly service. Car heating, shower, basic shared basic kitchen facilities etc.
And Imatra Spa and lake Saimaa in a short walking distance.
