The best thing here is the location and the view but anything else is quite outdated. Our room was dirty, and when we complained about it they said that there will be some renovations coming up. Still outdated is not the same thing as dirty. The room smelled like a basement and was filled with hair and sand. The chairs were the worst, you could see that they used to be very different color and they were just covered in something nasty 🫣 The breakfast was ok but the dinner I would definitely skip. The pools at the spa were freezing cold and some of them were empty.
Staff lacks empathy. Although it’s not the hotel’s fault, ”sorry to hear” shouldn’t be that hard to say. People from another country take photos in the spa but the personnel won’t deny it or add any signs that photographing is not permitted.
Already when you're looking at prices for this stay, you notice how affordable it is versus more modern spa's. Well, you cant have both! We stayed here one week-end in September 2021 and it couldn't have been better! We loved the swimming area, the many distractions that the hotel offered and the food was good value for money, too. We stayed in a room facing the so called promenade (ie. the corridor continuing from the reception onward) and didn't hear any disturbing noises etc. Sure the surfaces and furniture are dated, but did you think this is a boutique or design hotel ? The promenade offered a beauty parlor, a small shop, a cafe, LOTs of games for kids, bowling hall etc., not to mention the outdoors and whatever Imatra and nearby Lappeenranta has to offer. This is a great stay if you're happy with swimming, being close to nature and don't have high expectations of the materialistic experience.…
Stayed for two nights with a family. Room was clean and nice and we had a nice view. However the hotel breakfast was unbelievable poor! Food was messy and unhealthy. There was nothing local or special. Also the space was not well organised and therefore very grounded.
First and last visiting in this spa hotell. Bed wasn’t comfortable and food wasn’t healhty at all. There were fried potates and chicken and pig, The spa was little, but it was the best part of all. This wasn’t good choice,. The place near Saimaa is best part.
The first room had dust under the beds, dirt spots on the matresses, a whole in the sheet, dirty toilet seat and window blinds were not able to rise up. Also there was a hot radiator without any on/off swich and in the summer time it just made the room hotter. Vegan people doesn't have anything to eat at breakfast except lettuce and orange juice. After complaining we got Junior suite witch also has some broken stuff. And to the top of all this hotel is not COVID safe at all.
We booked a room from Imatra kylpylä spa. Our room was Economy-room with 2 separated beds. Our room was TERRIBLE!!!! It was so dirty: our toilet seats bottom was gray (it was supposed to be white obviously). There was a hole in sheets. There was dust under the bed and dirt spots on the bed. Window blinds didnt work. They were not avaible to rise up. So dust room!!! We made a complite and got Junior suite. There is also some broken stuff. And also this is not covid safe if you doesnt want just sit in your own room. Cromecast didnt work! Obviously Saimaa lake is so beautifull.
Lots of blackflies around (Finnish Mäkäräinen), bring your own repellent because big stores like Prisma are out of stock of it here! + Loved the spa, it’s perfect for small kids + Beauty Spa Wellamo is excellent, totally recommended, and I have experienced many + Overall nice holiday here - Cleaning team leadership fails horribly, overall everything everywhere seems dirty: elevator, doors, floors. Our room was never cleaned during our long stay. Shame!Cleaners only had time to bring new towels and empty trash. - Kastanja restaurant, so bad choises with lack of quality, and so dirty. Please rethink your consept.
I wanted a little extra for Corona-era life and a break from working and living at home. In May 2021, I booked two nights from Imatra Spa Resort for working away from home. The Spa Resort is big and located on the shores of Lake Saimaa - a great location. From the hotels / chalets front door you can already get to nature and nature trails. No parking fees. We stayed in Chalets Suite, which had two bedrooms, a living room, a well-equipped kitchen and a private sauna and bathroom. Stunning views from the windows and the balcony to Lake Saimaa crowned the accommodation. The suite was also very clean and quiet. Wi-fi worked well. In the morning and evening it was wonderful to visit the spa which was large and there were so many different pools and hot tubs. Our Swiss friend liked the big screens in spa. In screens you can see Saimaa related videos. When you check in you will receive a wristband to access the spa whenever you want - and as often as you want. That is at least important to me. To be able to plan your own day the way you want. In spa it is not possible to wear swimming shorts so my husband rented speedos from reception when we checked in. The service was friendly at both the reception and the restaurant. A couple of our friends had a short vacation and they stayed with us at the same time and it was top when the waitress on the 2nd morning remembered our whole party and when we arrived for breakfast, the male waitress advised kindly where our friends were already. Breakfast was versatile and in May there was also the possibility of have a take-away breakfast. We ate at the restaurant as it is large and there was plenty of room for our own peace. My husband went to the gym, which he thought was very good and well equipped and is also included to room price. My friend had some spa treatments and she was very happy with them. I warmly recommend this spa resort for short and longer stays. For us, Chalets Suite was a good accommodation option. I think that those are very good options for families also since they are so spacious.…
We had room near game area. Noise was awful. 50 desibel means that idea of relaxing holiday with daydreams were not possible. The area is beautiful and there are good exercise possibilites. Breakfast was food. We ate also dinner from bufee. It was ok.
