January, kids' school holidays, time to go to Sicily. We booked last minute - literally a day before. We wanted to be located in a rural place close to the Etna... since we were planning to visit the Mongibello which is covered with snow at this time of the year. We considered a few options, but we chose La Terra...

Really nice place with great hosts. We stayed in a double room with 4 people. The pull out couch was very uncomfortable but the real bed was fine. Decent food at the restaurant but it's a fixed menu changing nightly and depending on how busy it can be very slow service.

The service was very good and the personnel friendly. We had a 1 yr old and they even cooked some plain pasta for the kid when we needed it. We were even allowed to enter and use the kitchen if we needed for the baby. The room was quite comfortable and even supplied us with a cot for baby. Not...

La Terra Del Mezzo farmhouse is located between Etna and Ionio sea, 15 km from Taormina e 30 from Catania, 800 meters from the sea. "La Terra del Mezzo" offers accommodation in 10 comfortable rooms and a restaurant where you can enjoy the flavors and scents of Sicily. The structure is managed by Pennisi family, owner for many generations of the 18 acres of lemon groves which surround it. All ten rooms are equipped with private ventilated bathroom (with bath and shower), air conditioning, telephone, fridger, television and internet connection. Breakfast is served every morning in the dining room and outside, below the shadow of lemon trees, when time permits.
