Wow what a find.... our room was immaculate with a view over the lovely gardens. We reserved a table for dinner which we are glad we did as when we arrived in the restaurant it was very busy. We had a lovely table overlooking again the gardens. The food was excellent I had white asparagus with hollandaise to start, my...

We stayed here on Saturday night, getting the same €60 room as usual (we have stayed here many times). The rooms are basic but adequate (and warm), though the bed is not particularly wide compared with those in most hotels. It was good to see that the non-closing toilet door has finally been fixed after some years! The bathroom is...

Though it stands right next to the Chateau de Blérancourt, this hotel has no pretensions to grandeur. However, it is very clean and well-maintained, and its room prices are very modest. The main interest here is arguably the restaurant, which offers very high-quality food in an attractive setting. We've stayed here several times as a last stopover on the way...

We did not stay in the hotel but were lucky enough to get a last-minute reservation for dinner. This old building overlooking a chateau and park is famous in the area so always crowded. The food is absolutely out of this world, the staff very friendly and efficient, a classy setting. I cannot say enough good things about this place,...

We have stayed here many times over the last 15 years and have found it to be consistently good. The half board deal is excellent. Although the rooms are dated and a bit sparse in terms of decoration, they are comfortable and clean. We are usually given the same room with the toilet door that doesn’t close properly and the...

We have just spent a night at the Griffon on our way back to England after our holiday. It's a hotel we often visit and particularly like, and this time we had an attic room with a lovely treetop view of the adjoining chateau grounds. But what made this stay special was a discovery we had never made before: feeling...

We stayed at the Griffon for one night on the 2nd July. It was a bit tricky to find within the village as it appears to be part of the gate house to the chateau. Our room was very spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean with a great bathroom. Meals were served in the formal dinning room, the light and...

I love this place, even though it's a little quirky. Don't expect an enthusiastic welcome, although they're not unfriendly. But the hotel is great. The rooms have been re-done and are pretty comfortable, but don't expect air conditioning! The food is really good. We've stayed four times and we've never been disappointed. Good location next to the entrance of a...

My wife and I have friends living near Chauney and this is our favourite quality restaurant in the area. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and the food is consistantly outstanding. The hotel and restaurant (circa 19th c) are well situated on the edge of a park in the town centre with ample parking at the front....

This small-scale hotel is in a very quiet spot in a pleasant little country town. Its restaurant and some bedrooms overlook the attractive grounds of Blerancourt's chateau, now a museum, and there is no passing traffic. We have now stayed there twice and it is also a frequent lunching-place for us on our way to and from north Burgundy. Meals...

“A room with a view of the chateau grounds would be a good choice, particlarly the one whose bathroom has a romantic oeil-de-boeuf window - but the view in the other direction is pleasant too.”
