We had an absolutely fabulous stay with Mandy and Simon. 15 Grand Rue was gorgeous, the rooms were immculately clean and very spacious. We had our own balcony overlooking the courtyard. The design of the whole home was beautiful each piece down to the pottery had a story, had a fascinating history. Breakfast was lovey from an extensive tea selection, fresh baked breads and wonderful company with Jonathan :). Parking was super convenient and just off the corner of the property, a great option considering the old towns and small streets of the French country villages, glad we didn’t have to worry about this. We can’t say enough from arriving in the evening and enjoying a memorable evening chat with Mandy and Simon to a fabulous morning. Jonathan, their puppy was a pleasure to have around, and as dog owners ourselves we really appreciated having him joyfully playing in the garden. We drove from Nice to visit and enjoyed every moment and would certainly do so again to see Mandy and Simon!…
Beautifully decorated and chic B&B. Fantastic breakfast. And super helpful hosts who even sorted out a pharmacy that was open on a Sunday for our daughter who had an ear infection. Highly recommended. Parking is 2 mins walk away. Honesty bar for drinks. Also good local restaurant in the village. Pezenas is only 10 mins drive away.
France was baking hot. They had won the World Cup. We needed a break. Stepping through the iron door - yes, it really is - we found peace, tranquility and the warmest of welcomes from Simon and Mandy who are the perfect hosts in this opulent town house. The decorations are chosen with exquisite care to complement this truly beautiful building. The rooms - we had No.4 - are large and with gorgeous appointments, all toning with the room yet not confined to the building’s age to reflect its passage through time. Beds are comfortable beyond belief. The bathrooms and showers are fabulous. And it is all so clean, so immaculate and so effortlessly stylish. It goes without saying that the breakfasts are wonderful with fruit, cheese, bread and a wide range of Mariage Frères teas. I cannot recommend it highly enough. …
We had the perfect 3 night stay at ‘15 grand rue’ . Everything about it is 1st class the house and rooms are beautifully presented with stunning French furniture and the breakfast was amazing, freshly baked bread every morning 😋. Simon and Mandy are the perfect hosts they are very friendly and so knowledgeable about the area and very helpful about places to visit. I can’t say anything negative we had a great time. Their dog ‘Jonathan’ is so adorable too 🐶. We will definitely be back 😊
Simon and Mandy are excellent hosts, very helpful and friendly. Our room (2) had lots of space, a gorgeous balcony and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful. Caux and Pézenas are pretty; we were delighted with the restaurant (Le Pre St Jean) that Simon recommended for our anniversary. We would definitely stay again!
For a truly wonderful experience I can not recommend this place high enough. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay the perfect trip. It’s a home from Home. The rooms are huge. There are lovely little touches with all the comforts you would want. The breakfast is yummy. The rooms are cleaned to the highest standard. I love it and can’t wait to go back. Thank you!!!!
I submitted a review last year having spent a week at 15 Grand Rue with Simon and Mandy, and returned this year together with a group of 6 friends for a further week. My comments from last year still apply, this is a first-class establishment with wonderful spacious rooms, excellent breakfasts, exemplary service, and the provision of those little extras which make a stay special, such as quality toiletries, a complementary snack tray with sweets and savoury items, and the wonderful welcome and hospitality of our hosts. Each of the couples who accompanied me this year loved the place and have vowed to return. I note that there is one very critical review on this site. We were all at a complete loss to understand what this was about, as it is so obviously out of synch with the experiences of others. To clarify one point, there is a car park just 5 minutes walk away, it is free of charge and despite us having 4 cars between us we all managed to find space to park on every occasion. Simon and Mandy are quite happy with guests loading and unloading at the premises themselves and then taking the car to the car park. One extra delight this year was the presence of Jonathan, a French bulldog with a love for everyone. He is not allowed in the guest areas and Simon and Mandy are well aware that some people do not like animals as much as they do. He is a very quiet pooch and it is only a matter of time before someone fallls in love with him and smuggles him home in their suitcase.…
I stayed here with my wife and 6 friends for a week and had a truly relaxing pampered experience. The building is huge, each of 5 rooms more like suites, super comfy beds, spotless linen and oodles of hot water. Large sitting room always welcoming, and a sunny court yard . The setting is a small very tidy village , almost silent at night yet happy chatty French Folk about in the day, their occasional chatter adding to the very French architectural atmosphere. Our hosts are passionate about service and breakfast was always looked forward too. Fresh bread cereal patisserie fruit eggs coffee juices, enough to fill you to evening if you so chose. Free car park Just 150m away made access to and from easy. If you could drag yourself away from a book on one of the many sunny balconies then the local Town of Pézenas was 7 minutes away. Accepting the French seem to disappear between 12 and 2 means 3-6 is an active time and countless shops and boutiques open in quaint alleys cross crossing the town. Fabulous just to browse and explore . Or travel an hour to Narbonne on fast roads and explore roman ruins in the middle of a busy, clearly prosperous and up market historical city centre. A canal, cathedral and countless never ending alleyways full of shops and cafes awaits you. Carcissone is 90 minutes away and is a massive Castle containing a small town . We never got to Montpellier as to be honest Grand Rue was just so quiet and relaxing that as a group of friends we just spent hours chatting and relaxing in the property and it’s court yard where local wines of fantastic quality flowed. Ask your hosts for a wine tasting afternoon and your palate will come alive. Your hosts can organise meals at the best local restaurants , one of which is literally 200m away. So what can I say...Grand rue is suited to both short and longer stays and is an ideal tranquil base for exploring the area. Thoroughly enjoyable and Highly recommended.…
It’s in the good location - within one-hour drive from Montpelier train station, and if you drive from Beziers, it will be closer, less than 30-min. Plenty of chateau to choose, also nearby - if you wine tasting, recommend you talk to the hosts, Mandy and Simon would have good suggestion for you. Cannot forget the tranquil afternoon, sitting in their courtyard, enjoying the sunshine and lovely Rose. The stay is unforgettable!
My wife and I arrived in Pezénas to a suite that was so inadequate we would not stay there. An estate agent recommended 15 Grand Rue, Caux, to us. They were life savers. We stayed for five days. Simon and Mandy made us feel at home and cared for. Remembering that this is a house, a B&B, not a hotel the stay was delightful. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. I feel compelled to mention the review given by Maisie as we are the other couple she mentioned. Unfortunately it seemed her vacation was not progressing as well as she had hoped. This may have led her to vent at a convenient target. Our hosts demonstrated a knowledge of the area that allowed them to make recommendations that proved to be every bit as delightful as they suggested. The room was beautifully appointed, elegant and comfortable. The only downside to our stay was that it ended.…
