The picture are tricky, once you get there you realize that you gotta not so good deal. Do not use the restaurant, always short of food and the quality is poor. The room could be nice but they lack maintenance.

I stayed here for a week with a group in January. The location is good, although apart from the beach there is not much within close walking distance. The hotel/resort grounds are beautiful, nicely landscaped and set back in the trees just off an almost empty stretch of beach with soft fine sand and stunning sunset views and a couple...

It has been my pleasure to stay at the Vistamar 4 times now. Each visit has been in January as a member of a mission team from the USA. The lovely setting and comfortable accommodations are a treat to return to after a long day working at medical clinics, playing with children during VBS, returning from construction projects and conducting...

I stayed at this hotel as part of a group and included in the total price of the trip, so I can't speak to the price/value, but there are so many little things that could make this place so much better. The hotel is on a great beach that can be walked for miles. The sunsets are spectacular, and the...

We were recommended this resort by someone we met in Leon, and decided it would be a great place to "spoil" ourselves after New Year's Eve. It was pricey, but we figured it would be worth it for all-inclusive and to just relax and indulge for a day. Let me say, it was totally not worth it. Not worth the...

We booked an "all inclusive" stay here for $120 a night but when we arrived they said meals and drinks were not included with our bracelets and we had to pay an extra $30 a night for that inclusion. Then food is only available during short time windows. We arrived mid afternoon, starving after a long trip, and had to...

Spent 6 nights here as part of a large group of 40+. For most of this time we were the only people here. Right on a huge expanse of beach although it was not safe to swim in front of the hotel because of the currents – however a short walk to the left it was okay. Rooms were in...

I concur completely with the review of Andrew G. This hotel was worth barely one star and yet the price for this "all inclusive" resort was that of a 5 star. Yes, $265/night for our my family of 4. After two hours there, we cancelled our 2nd night and headed to the Barcelo down the highway which is a 5...

Booked this place for three nights based on a good Lonely Planet review and a fine looking website. Got there last Wednesday and the "resort" was basically deserted. The rooms are tired and stale--even the varnish is worn off the floors. The whole hotel feels like it's either waiting for a facelift or waiting to be sold. The vibe was...

We came with a group of 14 people at the end of our church mission trip. To my great delight this little resort was georgous! It was very clean and all of the staff was helpful and kind. Many spoke little English, but there were a few who were pretty fluent. Our room was simple and clean, but the view...
