Great food, great location, clean rooms, friendly staff, and nice pool. We stayed here for six nights and enjoyed watching the sunset over the ocean every night. We enjoyed our stay. You can ride horses or atvs on the beach if you are up for it and we had a bonfire on the beach.

This is a pretty basic hotel by American standards, but we enjoyed our stay. The beach has the potential to be pristine and lovely, but unfortunately it is littered with a lot of trash. It wouldn't be that hard to get rid of the trash, so I don't know why they don't. The rooms are fairly old and basic, but... More

We were part of a large group, which they accommodated very well for us. Unfortunately there is no hot water, didn't bother us much, but that would certainly up their reviews I believe. Some our groups rooms had major toilet problems that were not really fixed all week, even with us all following the no toilet paper in the toilet... More

The Hotel Vistamar is in a good location, perfectly situated on the beach in Pochomil. Rooms are clean and comfortable but be warned that due to a fire last year, the hot water is not working (and there are not immediate plans to repair it!) so you will have cold showers. The staff does not speak English so come ready... More

Separate buildings of 2-units, one up, one down - nice architecture. Air-conditioning, ceiling fans, TVs. Adirondack chairs & a hammock on the patio or balcony of each unit. Wi-fi in the lobby, not in the units. Great location on the beach, palm trees, hibiscus, fabulous sunsets. Swimming pool, plentiful but bland food.

If you're into the beach, the Hotel Vistamar can't be beat. We had a beautiful double room with a spacious veranda overlooking the waves. The sunsets were spectacular. The beach itself was filthy and we had difficulty swimming in the strong undertow. The A/C did work in our room, but our friend's A/C leaked all over their room and beds.... More

The hotel itself was pretty basic for American standards but the property was peaceful and well managed. The food was not particularly flavorful but similar to the food served elsewhere. The wifi signal was extremely poor everywhere on the resort and was pretty much useless. The pools were refreshing but the property was also right on the sand with plenty... More

I enjoyed my time there. The food was ok and the people don't speak any english (not a problem for me). The greatest appeal was the ultimate tranquility. It was so quiet and right on the beach. RIGHT ON THE SAND. Although the water is shallow, a little dangerous and quite sandy. (the water of Granada is better) but I... More

This was my second time to stay there - which says something. Sadly, a fire burned six units while we were there, and while some possessions were lost, no guests were injured. (The hotel made every attempt to reunite their guests with possessions that had been left behind in the evacuation - and to a large extent, succeeded.) I hope... More

As previously said, this is well below American standards of an all-inclusive resort. The facility is aging, but the pools are well maintained and the property is very safe. Upstairs villa style rooms have the best views, with several hammocks on each porch to help laze away the afternoon while watching the waves. Rooms are large and comfortable, and AC... More
