We were the first visitors this year. In late March. Extremely good taken care of. As we always have been. This simple but very nice hotel is the place to stay in Skala. Fokas' Garden surronds you when eating breakfast. And the first flowers were there to see. Don't miss them if you are going to Patmos. It is ten... More

I have just stayed at the Australis for the fourth time, rather fewer than some of my fellow guests who were there for the sixteenth time! That anyone would want to return to the same hotel sixteen years in a row says a lot about the quality of service and comfort. In fact what is there not to like about... More

I have stayed at the Australis Hotel four times since 2011 and am about to return. That says it all, I think. It is a lovely hotel on the most beautiful island in the world. Fokas Michelis built the hotel and maintains all the gorgeous landscaping. (Some of the earlier reviews are confused: Fokas is his first name and Michelis... More

My wife and I and another couple ( all in our late 60s) stayed at Hotel Australis, Patmos in May 2014. We had been recommended the hotel in 2013 by a regular visitor standing next to us at the check-in at Heathrow. Booking online was very easy and the owner's son Peter agreed to meet us off the Dodecanese Seaways... More

Hotel Australis is just perfect for me. It's central to everything, includes a decent if perhaps even better than decent breakfast, super clean, and is professionally run by people who care. Their care goes beyond just the room but your experience in Patmos. I noticed my fellow guests included many who just come back year after year, request the same... More

This is our fourth time in the Greek Islands and our first time staying at Australis Hotel. We travelled from Brisbane Australia with our 12yr old child meeting up with friends and relatives on a number of islands and stayed here 5 nights in early July. We specifically chose Patmos as one of the smaller, quieter and more authentic islands... More

Coming back after 20 years we wondered what to expect but were pleasantly reassured. The sprawling bougainvillea shades the hotel giving welcome relief from the August heat. As the harbour has spread over the last few years, the Australis is ideally placed, far enough away from the traffic noise and yet a pleasant 10 minute walk into town pass the... More

Other guests have been visiting this hotel for well over 30 years and I can definitely see why. On our last day a guy arrived from Austria who is one of their regular visitors who had taken 2 days to drive down on his motorbike. Rooms are cleaned and towels changed daily by the ever helpful Nadia from Romania. She... More

We stayed at the Australis Hotel for 2 nights/3 days as we were taking the overnight ferry to Athens on the last day.
