This countryside boutique hotel is definitely worth staying at for anyone exploring more of Estonia than just Tallinn. Lovingly restored from the ruins of a former vodka distillery, the rooms are nicely decorated, the food, locally sourced whenever possible, is excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. Superb sunset views from the 2nd floor balcony! Great hiking possibilities both directly from the hotel and from a short drive away.
This was recommended as being a place to stay where birders go and stay with their tour companies and in a lovely location which it is. Unfortunately they made us feel very unwelcome as they couldn't provide us with breakfast or an evening meal or be there when we arrived. After arriving and no one being there, tried to call with no response. Very disappointing. We luckily found somewhere else to stay at the last minute who were much more accommodating.
What a lovely place! We were there for 4 days and enjoyed it really. The rooms are very nice, the breakfast wonderful and the staff was always very helpful. The hotel is situated in a wonderful park that invites for walks and relaxation. From the hotel you have a direct look at the lake. We can recommend this quiet, great hotel!
Stayed for 2 nights recently in this unique hotel in a lovely setting overlooking a lake. The bedroom was spacious but being on the 2nd floor and tucked away in the eaves of the building, had no view as it had velux roof windows. Bathroom was beautiful with a free standing roll top bath - this was shared with my friend who was staying in the adjoining room. Food was excellent - dinner was a lot more imaginative than traditional Estonian food. Breakfast was also very good and the staff very friendly. Small bar is an honesty bar where you help yourself and write down drinks on a sort of tab. The setting us interesting to explore with lots of old buildings scattered about. There is also a small craft shop selling sheepskin rugs/ ornaments etc. Would love to stay here again !
Great old manor, but reinovated. Excellent guide (I think the name of this guy is Arno) through the manor. Food was excellent, armosphetr great, good bear. Great landscape and inside architecture. If you have chance visit it.
We had booked the romantic dinner in the Viinavabrik and we got exactly what we ordered. My girlfriend and I had a really pleasant evening. We enjoyed the chef's menu which was delightful. Also, the blonde waitress was the most helpful and gave us an interesting little tour of the building (who knew she has to polish 770 shot glasses twice a year). Also, both my lady friend and I did like the fact that there is just one chef's choice menu, which guarantees you to get a perfectly matched meal (including the wine). The Chef even served us the food himself, which shows his confidence in his skills. Altogether we had a very pleasant evening. We will definitely come again.
We had a wonderful time in Viinavabrik ! We were the only guests and we felt us as royalties 👑 The food was good and everyone were so kind 😃 We took a trip with the boat, rowing in turns ... fantastic view 🚣
I was amazed and impressed with this place. The designers did a fantastic job in creating such a beautiful hotel out of the former vodka brewery. The rooms are spacious with good, modern bathrooms. The meals are excellent and the substantial breakfasts provide a great start to the day. The location is great and provides a perfect base for exploring nature by foot, bicycle or car. The facilities include a photography studio. I hope I get the opportunity to visit here again because it is truly unique and special.
I didn't stay at the Guesthouse, but saw pretty much all the rooms and all the house. Each room has its own face and the overall atmosphere is great and cosy. Loved the swing in front of the house and the lake with sunset/sunrise is just magical. Had an unplanned dinner, so the chef stayed longer just to serve us. The food was excellent and portions really big. Wonderful service. I definitely return one day to just relax and write; enjoy a long weekend. Definitely good for small seminars, romantic weekends, group events etc.
Yes, it hasnt changed. We happened to be the only guests as well in mid September. Dinner was prebooked and good. Prices reasonable. Breakfast excellent. The surroundings partly run down partly beatiful buildings. We had a car and stopped overnight while touring old manors in the area.
