We stayed at Chateaux Mavaleix to attend a friends wedding. I could not fault the team who were beyond welcoming but the rooms need work. The facilities are basic. Our room was missing a door on the bathroom, a main light and a wardrobe which are not what I would consider luxuries. The restaurant is lovely but opening hours did...

Chateau Mavaleix is a beautiful location with lovely grounds. We didn't stay at the hotel, just booked a table in the restaurant. The hostess was very friendly.Starter was good, but my main course was inedible, drowned in soy sauce, and potatoes under cooked. Though the restaurant was not particularly busy,it took 2 hours to serve us 2 courses. We had high hopes for Chateau Mavaleix, very dissapointed.

Rooms were clean, pleasant and the beds good. Food was excellent...

The warmth continued into the general ambiance of the room with the comfortable seated area and the blazing log fire. The menu had an excellent combination of meals on offer and our choices when eaten were superb. The quality of the food...

Chateau de Mavaleix, Chaleix, France You check in at the restaurant. Our hostess greeted us warmly. I think we may be the only guests at least as of 4pm. But it is probably because it is very early in the season. You can see that life around the chateau is just waking up to spring. Our hostess was very busy...
