My wife and I stayed at the couples retreat for 3 nights in October 2011. The one bedroom 'cottage' is immaculate and has every facility we needed for a 3 night stay (in fact we would have been very comfortable to stay longer). The whole resort is finished to a very high standard and the couples retreat was no exception, with modern bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with all cutlery, pans etc, log burning stove with logs provided and TV/I pod dock/radio. We wanted a break away from work, phones and stress - the location is wonderful with beautiful views. The house is very private. One night there were deer strolling by the window. There are other houses nearby but the views from the house face out to the loch so you are not overlooked and feel very secluded. The marina is a

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your kind review, Tighnamara is probably my favourite property we have and is indeed our most popular destination for those looking for a true escape, which I was pleased to learn you enjoyed yourselves. We do try to offer a home from home atmosphere and equip all of our self catering properties as we would like to find and use them. We look forward to seeing you again soon. best regards Iain

Along with my husband and 2 young children we stayed in an apartment overlooking the marina on bank holiday weekend this year. Having booked a family room in the lodge on arrival we viwed the new apartments and decided to change our booking to a very reasonable priced but extremely adequate apartment. Comprising of a kitchen/ living / dining area furnished very nicely, two bedrooms( one with ensuite and the master room having its own access to the main bathroom. The bed in the master room was huge and the bathroom had its own sauna and tv in the bath! It all felt like complete luxury...as it was! We ate in the restaurant which was super but very busy so booking recommended! Very family friendly and kids food was great! We had friends who were meeting us having come from northern

I and 15 friends stayed at Portavadie overnight while doing the Five Ferries cycle from Ardrossan to Wemyss Bay. There was a mix-up with the bookings and so we were accomodated in two cottages, one bed & bunk and one studio, the staff were all very helpful in advance by telephone and on site. All the accomodation was well appointed, clean and appeared unused since it's recent build. The cottages were very homely and had the lovely touch of some iced fairy cakes as a welcome. The bed & bunk and studio in the lodge have a lovely canteen style restaurant where we all had a good continental breakfast and the benefit of a drying room and space for covered bicycle storage. We all ate dinner in the restaurant/bar in the marina which was delicious and reasonably priced.

My fiancé and I spent 3 nights in a studio apartment to celebrate our anniversary. The drive to Portavadie from Aberdeen took us nearly 5 hours but it was a beautiful drive and the reward at the end of the journey was well worth it. The marina buildings and setting are stunning and the apartment was first class. It was huge and had everything you could need or want to live in full time, never mind for a 3 night stay. Having only been open since June everything was so clean and new and very stylish. The bed was extremely comfortable and is a super king size so plenty of room. I hope that future guests and the cleaning staff keep it in the condition it is in now. We ate in the restaurant on all 3 nights. As mentioned in previous reviews, I recommend that you book it in
