We stayed for three nights in January and had a great time. Firstly, getting there you need to catch a minibus to Mae Khaem from Lampang (or Phrae if you're coming from that direction). When we got to Lampang all the minibuses had sold out, so we got a ticket on the Green Bus heading to Phrae which dropped us...

I stayed at Punjen for 4 nights in November, primarily to see some of the local insect life. At first glance the bungalows look a little basic but are comfortable and have all the required amenities such as fridges, air-con and wi-fi, plus a nice swimming pool in the gardens to cool off in. The staff were very friendly and...

Stayed at Punjen with family for 6 nights over Xmas and New year. We self drove and visited various national parks and cultural sites returning every afternoon to the sound of the running stream in front of the bungalow. The hostess, Dwaila is a wonderful person who caters for our every need and nothing too much trouble,. The bungalows are...

We spent 3 very relaxing days in this small resort with our family of 5 (3 kids). We stayed in one of their bungalows (2 bedrooms, small living room, fan, no airco). The remote place is clean, green and pieceful. The swimming pool is great and the garden is beautiful with loads of butterflies. The staff is the biggest asset...

A group of nine of us stayed at Punjen for three nights in late December, 2013. We rented two of the three bungalows and ended up having the whole place to ourselves. I found Dwalia and her staff to be incredibly nice and accommodating. We went on a trip to the waterfalls in the national park (a short drive from...

It's a little off the beaten path, but that's the whole point, which is to get away from the tourist crowd. My partner and I spent three nights and were the only guests at that time. Dwaila and her husband picked us up at the train station and even thought to bring us a small bag of locally-made food to...

We are wondering if we stayed in another place with the same name.We went 70kms out of our way based on the other reviews on trip Advisor, and hoped to stay for 3 or 4 days.We couldn't wait to leave ASAP the next day.So this review is for those people like me who require more than basic accommodation. There is limited...

I stayed two whole weeks at the Hideaway in May/June 2012. The object of my stay was to photograph insects. The accommodation and food was of a very high standard. My only complaint was I was being served too much food. The staff were lovely people and I formed a special bond with Pat who was my guide. Not only...

Dwaila's Hideaway came highly recommended - and it lived up to the hype. This is a great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere quiet and rural. We came as a family of four (children aged 4 and 14) and we all enjoyed it. The outings were pleasantly low key (in a good way) but really interesting and fun...

“There are two bungalows, both are the same and each has two rooms each with a bathroom. If you are self driving, access is a little tricky. There is a sign for Punjen about 3 kms from Wangchin on the Wangchin Phrae road. There are several forks in the road after that and just follow the B & B signs all the way to the end of a mostly sealed but narrow road and you will come to the main gate.”
