Arrived on Saturday. Enquired about breakfast the next day only to be told no Breakfast served due to Covid. - Suggested to try a local cafe! By Tuesday following week the room had not been cleaned or replenished and it took several more communications to get it cleaned Trying to get a meal in the Evening was a challenge - Simple question - Can I have a Table for 1 please - was not understood - common theme I am afraid. The Evening Food is extremely good. I stayed here many years ago and whilst the evening food is better the rest has deteriorated somewhat in terms of service etc.
Booked this for our late Mum’s Wake . We booked on 30th May 2022 for 40 covers for lunch . Zafer was very professional, efficient and nothing was too much trouble . Food was superb as was the service . We couldn’t have asked for anything better for our mum . One of the best in our local area - I wouldn’t hesitate to go back . Ideal for any family occasion. Well done Zafer and the team 1st class ! Thank you so much Karen Timoney & family 🙏
A cocktail bar that hasn't heard of a Long Vodka? 1 of the starters had to be returned as it was not hot. Another was not as advertised on the menu. Mains were better. Nice atmosphere and an outdoor seating area that would be nice on a summer evening.
We had a reception here for my mother and we have to say that it was absolutely fantastic. The welcome reception that we received from staff was great. The food was top quality and overall we could not fault our experience there. Nico and his team were a credit to the hotel. We would certainly recommend and we will all certainly return as a family....Thank you all...
I had dinner here with family. (Sunday Evening) The choice of food was really good and the service was excellent. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and we had a lovely relaxed meal. Large portions and well cooked food. My brother in law; a connoisseur of steak pies declared it was one of the best he had tasted. The roast beef and Yorkshire pudding went down well with the rest of us. An excellent meal and great service.
Booked this hotel in April 2021 for the COP26 conference (an important booking for me). The hotel cancelled the booking at the end of Sept 2021 (after 5 months) claiming they had double booked. Which should have been apparent months prior. All other rooms in and around Glasgow are fully booked (or cost in excess of £5200 per night) and I am now unable to attend the conference. Appalling customer service and clearly a blatant disregard for very important booking (to me), that is a cynical attempt to maximise their profit.
Food ok , cocktails good . However , Ali was rude , unhelpful and disrespectful . He refused to consider giving us an outside seat even when they were empty . As we left many tables outside free and so I called and asked if I could make a booking , oh yes he said , no problem , I have some . As we returned , the disgust on his face was evident and he clearly did not want us as customers ! Poor service from him ! Other staff , fine .
Booked a table for a family birthday for 9 people on Saturday 22.5.21. Found the service from the waiting staff to be excellent but sorely let down by the quality of the food. Ordered king prawn risotto and it was tiny small prawns in this and others ordered fish which was clearly frozen. Not one person in this party of 9 enjoyed the food and to say it was average would be being kind. The table we where sitting at was dirty underneath on the floor and the toilets in both men’s and ladies where desperately needing attention. The staff are very good but totally let down by poor food which is the most important, and the prices being charged are not reflected as found it to be expensive for quality offered.
We booked two standard rooms and one small room. The standard rooms were very big and had a seating area. The Hotel is an old Victorian Sandstone Villa at what is considered the posh end of Uddingston near the train station ! The Hotel is no longer associated with the OYO group and I think is managed by a Turkish company. Breakfast was superb with plenty of hot options. Our package included a cooked breakfast. There is an Italian style restaurant and we had dinner there during our stay. The service was good and the food was pleasant enough ! The double glazed windows do a good job of keeping the noise from the main road down and the rooms (most of them at least) only see the sun in afternoons so they don't get too warm. The standard rooms were nicely decorated. The building is architecturally beautiful and has stained glass windows and paintings showing local sites including a massive painting of Bothwell Castle ! Only niggle for me is that the pillows are far too soft and offer minimal neck support !…
Stopped here to meet a friend for coffee which turned into lunch Excellent choice on the menu staff were attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Would come here again Recommended lunch place plenty of parking good decor
