Tripadvisor gives a Travellers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

In Cod do we trust - it says outside the restaurant…in this restaurant do I trust for a gorgeous Cod. Well priced, good portion, served nicely hot and delicious as caught right there and then…not frozen fish…search all Norways west coast for a good Cod meal…and hidden behind Nordkapp point is this little gem. The house, deco and furnishings are simple and clean and the focus is on the great tasting food - right where it should be. Absolutely love it. Staff were pleasant and humble. A definite YES

Great spot to spend the night prior to, or after, your visit to the north cap (some 15 km away). Calm and with a nice view at a little lake. As the name suggests, it feels like a base camp before going up a mountain. All basic facilities available. A small restaurant with good local food is definitely a plus in this very remote area. 3 minutes’ walk from the world’s northernmost camp site you’ll also find Europe’s northernmost fishing village, which is nice too.

Stayed in one of the cabins. Perfect base camp in small fishing village Skarsvåg, surrounded by natures beauty. Staff was very friendly and the camping area was peaceful. Everything was simple, so all we had to do, was to enjoy the views.

The cottage can fit up to 6 people with a tight double bunk beds (if you are not big size), plus two single bunk beds. It is fairly good by Scandinavian standard. You must bring your own bed linens and quilt cover. It has parking lot FOC by the cottage so it is convenient to load and unload stuff. The cottage is very clean but basic and cosy. The toilet and bath is very tiny and there is a limitation for hot water per cottage on daily use. Service is acceptable for Scandinavian standard.
It is a little cold at night during the time we stayed (end July). There is a hill behind the cottage with walking path, so it was nice in the morning to do a small climb up for sunrise. There is also a lake nearby plus a small village. The cottage also offers buffet breakfast but we chose to make our own in the cottage.
It is about 13km drive to the North Cape (Nordkapp). With a car, this distance is totally acceptable.
Overall, it is reasonable when comparing with other cottages in Northcape, but by average Scandinavian standard, the apartment is fairly pricey (about 130 euros per night for four people!) when comparing to other cottages and apartments we stayed in the same trip (like Saariselka and Kilpisjärvi).

The campsite is basic, there is a windscreen for tents. There are some simple cabins. The facilities are good. There is a clean service buidling. There is also al little well equiped kitchen you can use for free. The camping includes a simple restaurant and little shop. From the campsite you can make a beautiful walk to Kirkeporten, a rock formation with view to the Nordkapp. The campsite is within driving distance (10 minutes) of the Nordkapp (centre). Near the campsite are reindeers. One day they ran across the campsite. A perfect campsite to explore this beautifull area!

Stayed for 2 "nights" in July, at this place where the sun never sets between mid-May and end of July. The cabin we stayed in contained 2 bunkbeds, a table, 2 chairs and an bench to sit on that was fixed to the wall, plus a small workbench with a refrigerator underneath. In other words, lots of things on a pretty small area - I would say approx. 8 m2. Since there was was just 2 of us it was perfectly OK, but I can imagine it might be a bit crowded if you are 4 adults... (There are also larger cabins with ensiute toilets avaliable at the camping.)
There´s a building with 2 separate rooms for women and men, containing 2 toilets, 2 or 3 basins and 3 showers each, plus a diningroom and a kitchen with a hotplate and a sauce pan free to use. These are open around the clock. The same building also contains the reception, where you can buy a few fresh fruits, bread, toileteries, postcards, maps and the likes. They also serve breakfast and pizzas there, and you can sit there and eat, or watch TV or use the Internet (if you bring your own laptop/phone). The reception/kiosk closes at 10 pm (at least in mid-summer, maybe earlier the rest of the time it´s open).
The surrundings are very nice! We walked up to Kirkeporten (= church door), a rock-formation seen on dozens of postcards. The walk starts right outside the camping and takes about 25-30 minutes. (It´s mostly uphill, but not a tough walk). We also saw a herd of reindeers, just some 50 metres off the camping site! Pretty exotic ;)
There are but a few downsides of the camping and cabins: - there are no real blackout curtains, so if you´re bothered by sleeping in broad daylight (as it will be from May to July...) bring a Sleep Mask - there are no mugs/glasses/plates/cutlery in the cabins or the open kitchen, just bear that in mind if you wish to eat there - the fridge in our cabin made such a terrible noise we had to shut it off! (Luckily, it was not more than about 6-10 derees outside, so we kept our youghurt, ham and cheese in a bag on the porch) - the meals they provide in the reception are - as everything else in Norway... - very expensive. (Pizzas about 140-160 NOK I believe) There is a hotel in Skarsvåg as well, some 100 meters from the camping, that serves dinner (overpriced and not that good), but at least it as an alternative if you don´t want to have all your meals at the camping, and are staying in Skarsvåg for a few days. (The closest "city" where you can stock up is otherwise Honningsvåg, about 20 km from Skarsvåg) (At the camping we were told the hotel restaurant it´s just for their guests, but we ate there without any problems...)
With that said, you don´t go to Skarsvåg and it´s surroundings to have gourmet-dinners, but to experience the nature, and THAT is truly amazing!!!
The camping is good value for money, and I would probably stay there again.

We stayed here in a tent during our summer holiday in 2015. The tent area is fairly small but we had no problem finding a good spot. Apparently so good that the reindeers walked right through the tent area. One of the actually tripped on one of our tent wires - pretty unique experience. The reindeers were in the camping site every night. Facilities were quite good - bathing facilities and kitchen. Breakfast in the morning was tasteful. From Kirkeporten you can easily drive or take the bike to Nordkapp. We actually ran from Kirkeporten camping to around the halfway point to Nordkapp. Great experience - but beware of the busses. Amazing nature. Don't miss the walk to Kirkeporten cliff. It takes just around half an hour. Go there and watch the sunset over the cliffs of Nordkapp. Kirkeporten Camping is highly recommended.

Been there with 3 my friends and stayed for 1 night after long trim from Finland. Cottages are cousy, very nice during summer nights (no dark at all :) ) and trip at midnight on close rocks and hills will give you beautiful view around.

Good for motorcycles if you are with tent or on a cabin. Good kitchen for campers and nice bath and toilets. The heater in the cabin is a bit small but the cabins are nice and clean. Don't forget to see the kirkeport

We were three persons arriving by motorcycles in nasty weather conditions, two Norwegians and a German. We had a pleasant stay in one of the larger cabins. It was a normal type of cabin, but larger than usual. We ate late dinner and had a couple of beers in the small restaurant by the reception, which was really pleasant after days with just simple meals and conditions. The service was excellent with servants which did not only give excellent service, but seemed also genuinely interested in the visitors.

"The small huts are close to the entrance where more or less all guests are passing by in the late evening for a midnight sun trip to the Nordkapp. The bigger cottages are a bit more apart and therefore quieter."
