Stayed here whilst attending a wedding at nearby Thrumpton Hall, so glad we chose Hillside Cottage. We received a warm welcome from Karen for whom nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was fantastic as was the Breakfast ( you must buy some of the Maramalade ). The surroundings were nice and peaceful and it was lovely to return after a hectic...

We stayed here on the travel back home from Scotland and we have to admit, it's one of the best B&B we ever stayed in. We got a very warm welcome from Karen and Barney as we arrived Hillside Cottage (Our dog was also pleased to meet Barney :)). The two rooms were very lovely and they are perfect in...

Visited Thrumpton to attend and play at a wedding. Stayed at Hillside Cottage with my wife. We would like to say that Hillside is the best B & B that we have ever stayed at. Karen is the most attentive and caring person and the facilities were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for her whether it was connected with...

Simply the Best B & B we have ever stayed in. The cottage was in the middle of nowhere, but was easily accessible from the motorway. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed, being greeted by Karen who made us feel at ease straightaway, not forgetting her lovely dog Barney. We personally are not dog lovers, but found Barney...

Stayed here for Download festival and can honestly say this was the best b&b I've ever stayed in. Lovely clean rooms with a comfy bed (had the best 2 nights sleep for a long time),the breakfast was superb especially the locally sourced sausage and bacon. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts but they were never over fussy. Had...

Located right on the border of the two counties, we stayed here for the Download festival weekend, It would be about 7 minutes to East Midlands Airport and about 9 minutes to Download. It is closer to the style of a boutique hotel a rather than a traditional B&B. The grounds and scenery are stunning and the hosts are the...

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Following booking,, Karen from Hillsview Cottage made contact with me, to personalise our stay, including arrangements for my gluten free dietary needs. On arrival, my case was taken from the car to my room! On returning to the cottage, following a long tiring day at wedding, our bed clothes were turned ready for a most relaxing, peaceful sleep....

Decorated to a very high standard and super clean. Very comfortable bed. The landlady has thought of everything, even down to providing a pair of slippers for every guest, and sending any of the lovely products in the room to the local Refuge if you don't use them. Really peaceful, despite proximity to the main road from the south into...
