We were just passing through Ballyleague and decided to look for somewhere for a quick lunch and happened to pull in just outside this restaurant. Because it was heavy rain, we didn't bother to look any further and although it wasn't busy (which is what I'd normally look for if I haven't eaten in a place before) we took a chance. We were very glad we did because the food was really good and the service was excellent. The menu was small but that was fine and we both easily found dishes we liked, and the waitress also told us what the daily specials were. My friend had the vegetable soup followed by the lamb, which was a special, and I had the Caesar salad, and it was all very good. The salad was fresh and I loved the dressing, which wasn't overwhelming which can sometimes be the case, and although the portion wasn't huge, it was plenty for me. The lamb was tender and very tasty, and again, more than sufficient. Prices were good and I would definitely go again. Only downside was that the restaurant could do with a bit more decoration or attention just to give it a warmer 'feel'. The ladies toilets also would benefit from a bit of colour, even just a small vase of flowers on the windowsill. But all in all, a good experience, and can definitely recommend.
