Returning customer, there were eight of us. Had the three course special. Really good portions and tasty food, highly recommended. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff 👍🏻 a lovely local business, good wine list too. Great access as my son had my granddaughter in pram.

We were slightly disappointed on arrival as the bins hadn't been emptied (owner apologised for this when mentioned at check out) and the room was quite small - the bottom corner of the bed was against a wall, meaning you had to climb over to get into the far side of the bed. This was only slightly annoying for us... More

My partner and I stayed here for originally one night. It was booked on our behalf by a friend. We were due to move on to another hotel for the 2nd night. But loved it so much here we cancelled the other hotel and stayed here another night. Very friendly owner and staff. Great food including a very tasty full... More

Attended a wake here recently. Staff were rushed off their feet(but friendly), food at best average and the toilets badly lit (if lit at all) and pretty disgusting. It said that the hotel deals with functions - well you could've fooled me! The price advertised for afternoon tea was quite extraordinary. We won't return I don't think.

I found myself in this place in September with a couple of hours to kill. Had a couple of beers and noticed that lots of people in the Bar were having pizzas from 'Cinatras', an Italian restaurant that occupies the other half of the pub. I decided to try a pizza and was not only amazed how cheap it was... More

Fantastic staff...great food...good for a drink and perfect place to finish Hadrian's Wall walk. Felt welcome from the moment I stepped in the door and the folks at the Dorset Arms went above and beyond to ensure I had a good stay and helped with onward travel arrangements. Will stay there again and would recommend the Dorset Arms to everyone.

Having come down on an unplanned stay I found the Dorset Arms Hotel. The hotel sits in the middle of a housing estate and a 5 minute drive from a small shopping centre (handy when you have to buy clothes due to not planning an overnight stay). The room I had was a good size with all of the usual... More

I have given this place 4 blobs, which I take to mean 'very good'. Is it 'very good'? By most objective standards, probably not; 3 blobs would probably be fair. However, it's a lot better than I expected, a lot better than it looks and, probably, a lot better than anything else on offer in Wallsend, and it has cheerful... More
