When we arrived we were impressed with the modern and spacious feel and the amenities that the hotel had. However once we got to our room the cracks started to show. The room was tired in areas and needed freshening up and minor repairs, the bed was really small, bathroom was dirty and it felt as though soundproofing was non existent. We enjoyed the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room but the pool was really cold. We had dinner and breakfast during our stay; I really enjoyed my chicken burger but the veggie burger was very basic in comparison and veggie options in general were poor. This was the same for the cooked breakfast too. Although we found the rest of the breakfast to have a nice variety.

We stayed 4 days. I wouldn't stay here again, below par in care and cleanliness Poor breakfast menu - the same every day and the potatoes were re-heated and hard on our final day of stay. My wife is asthmatic and the room and corridors are filthy all along the edges and the hotel poorly maintained. Most of the staff try but don't really care. Finally had to call for the GM - Ian on the final day who then immediately made an effort to have the room cleaned and the missing light bulb from the lamp replaced. A real health and safety issue if I had children

I visit the gym and Spar most days, it's always clean and the equipment is good and well serviced. The staff are friendly and Craig the Manager is always helpful and friendly, so I can recommend the gym and Spar. Also the coffee shop at the Villiage is excellent and the ladies that work there Charlie and Julie are friendly and very welcoming, I look forward to using it after the gym. The restaurant which we have used on several occasions serve a good breakfast which is well prepared and value for money. Also all the staff and the manageress Tamara is always helpful friendly and professional. Although I am unable to comment on the hotel itself, I should imagine it is the same standards throughout.

If you need a quiet place to rest or work then this isn't it. If you want to stay above a high street local pub then it's perfect. It felt more like a Butlins than an edge of town hotel. I have stayed in other Village Hotels that weren't quite so rowdy.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.. filthy!!! They gave me 3 rooms all dirty. Disgusting I complained to maintenance they just left us sat in the room like lemons . Receptionist was rude cold and useless . Completely ruined our weekend I left after seeing the third room as it was too dirty . I have never left a hotel because it was too dirty to stay in I am so shocked. Stains on bed frames, stains on carpets, unclean handles, I was visibly upset in tears in fact when maintenance came. I showed him the two dirty beds he said he would call his manager and just left us for half an Hour??? Went down to reception saw him asked if he was planning on coming back to us he said he was doing something else?? He would have just left us there to waste even more of our time. 3 opportunities I gave them to sort it out and they didn’t. A disgusting hotel I wouldn’t return EVER. I have never known anything like it. Plus no manager there I could speak to?? Awful

Wanting to satisfy my latest coffee craving whilst in the area and having seen the queue at the Costa a few minuets down the road I thought I would give this outlet a shot. Parking was easy and free for customers, the hotel was fairly quiet as as it was early morning but the Starbucks itself was clearly starting to fill up with guests and gym goers. Despite being busy the service was seamless from the girls behind the counter and my drink was in my hand within a couple of minuets!! Special recognition to Charlie and her service with a smile despite the growing queue.
