Our first real "English Pub" we longed to experience as we began our walk along Hadrian's Wall... The only place to get dinner in Bowness... we opened the door to find the pub under construction! Initially we were so disappointed, but soon Megan, a young...More

Stopped here after a cycle along route 72 of the National cycle network. The pub was undergoing a refurbishment when I called here first but managed to get a pint in before we left for home. Great little

I saw some t shirts for sale at the Wallsend B&B (in Bowness on Solway) they said 'I walked the wall', I think they had 2/3 different designs but I didn't notice any polo shirts. The Kings Arms probably sell them too. You can also buy a nice looking certificate which has a picture of the wall on it and says 'I walked the Wall', it also says how long it is etc. We bought one from the B&B but again I think The Kings Arms would also have them - I can't remember whether it was £2.50 or £5. Btw, from a brief glance at the t shirts, they looked to be nice quality.

"The rooms were under construction when we were there, so I'm not sure. We just enjoyed beer and dinner."
