From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The hostess was very friendly and accommodating. The room was quite clean and well appointed. For breakfast, the table was set for us, and a a typical English breakfast was served. I would highly recommend this cute little place.

Walking Hadrian's Wall Path in October 2016 we spent our last night at The Old Chapel and it is an excellent start or end point. You will be most happy here, a warm welcome awaits! Our room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage, TV, hairdrier. The bath was an added bonus at the end of the week!

Stayed here Sept 2016 ready to start Hadrians Wall Walk. Great situation right by the start of the path. Maureen was so helpful and gave us a warm welcome and send off. Lovely rooms and healthy substantial breakfast to get us going

We stayed here for one night. The welcome is very warm, and our stay was perfectly pleasant. Pluses: Warm welcome. Communal kitchen with tea, coffee, biccies, toast and so on, and a facilities for cooking was a real bonus (might be a bit much if the place was full but we were there on our own). Minuses: not the most...

We stayed here before walking Hadrians Wall. While the B&B was small and wasn't luxurious, it was clean and comfy. What made it special was the hospitality of the owner, a former walker who had thought of lots of things which would be appreciated by walkers (flexible arrival time, a lounge/kitchen/dining room where guests can relax, no compulsory boot removal...

Kind and welcoming, she booked our return bus back to Carlisle for the next day and noting was too much trouble. The room was spacious clean and the location of the B&B a short walk away from the pub....

We stayed at The Old Chapel for the last stop on our Handrian's Wall walk. It was clean, quiet and really comfortable. We stayed in the family room which had plenty of space and an en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was very relaxed, generous and tasty. However the real highlight of our stay was the owner Maureen. Maureen is incredibly welcoming...

My husband and I walked Hadrian's Wall starting from Bowness-on-Solway and stayed at The Old Chapel the night before our first day of walking. Maureen and her husband have done a terrific job converting the building into a comfortable space. Our room was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. Maureen was helpful in many ways. She gave us...

We were greted by Maureen, a wonderful host who immediately made us feel at home with a cup of tea in the kitchen which is comfortable and has all the facilities required to enjoy a relaxing breakfast and to make up a packed lunch for the day ahead. Rooms are clean and comfortable, TV reception is pretty poor though. We...

On arrival you'll meet the lovely Maureen and you'll immediately want to call her Aunty Maureen. Lovely rooms (upstairs had a very inviting bath after such a long walk). We were made to feel at home here and ate dinner at the pub 100 yards up the road (The Kings Arms). Brekkie was a scrummy full English and the fully...
