We can only agree whole heartedly with every word that Alan D and Hywel J said in the last 2 reviews. Everything is spot on! From start to finish, Helen , Abbie, Kenny, Annie, Nicola and her team were nothing short of hosts with the absolute 'mosts'. We did not see them except when we needed them and they were genuinely interested in us having a wonderful stay, which we did! Our party consisted of a large family group ranging from less mobile grandparents to teenagers who wanted to explore the grounds respectfully. We stayed in the Independent which had a lift, Groom's Quarters and Coach House. All immaculate, clean, well equipped with cleaning resources, tea towels, dishwasher tablets etc. The Walled garden is a slice of heaven for your senses. The nearby grounds are a perfect mix of lawn to play on and wild meadow for conservation etc. We ate at the Hidden River Cafe first night which was such a unique setting. Netherby is just beautiful in every way, but its secret charm are the staff who seem to cherish it and speak highly of the owners. It is a true labour of love and we cannot wait to return

We had a fantastic few days at Netherby Hall. The setting was out of this world - think stately home but with all mod cons. The restoration of the main hall has been undertaken with patience and great care and is a pleasure to be able to see it (albeit mainly external as it is a private home). The holiday accommodation we stayed in had every possible convenience and was fitted out to the highest quality standard. The shower was the best I’ve ever experienced too! Location wise it was ideal; tranquil grounds, fantastic lawn and a wonderful (and productive) walled garden all a short drive to the M6 and ideal for touring north or south. In addition the staff were amazing; thank you Helen, Abbie and Kenny for your hospitality, friendliness and professionalism. Overall a fantastic find and one we certainly shall be visiting again and again in the future.

We stayed for a fortnight in Engineer - a spotlessly clean, superbly well equipped and comfortable apartment for two with wonderful views over the gardens and farm land from the spacious bedroom. The gardens provided lots of areas to explore or just to sit and relax. And the walled gardens were a delight. The staff were most welcoming and it was lovely to be greeted by Helen as we arrived. And she did her utmost to ensure we had a comfortable stay. It was also useful to have a taxi service provided to the local Pentonbridge Inn. Netherby Hall is very well situated to explore Hadrian’s Wall, the Lake District and the Solway Firth in both England and Scotland.

We have just returned from a lovely 2 week holiday in Middle Lodge at Netherby Hall after our holiday was delayed by 12 months. From the start I dealt directly with the staff at Netherby Hall and they were so helpful and friendly, this continued in person throughout our visit. The teamwork, sense of pride and commitment to the Netherby Estate is evident. The estate itself is fantastic for gentle dog walking, only open to the public for certain occasions and so very quiet. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with natural elements, cattle, wildlife and a lovely walled garden which supplied the vase of fresh flowers in the lodge on our arrival and also the botanicals for Netherby Gin which I can thoroughly recommend, a nice, fresh traditional style of gin. We were blown away by the lodge, lovely big rooms, light, airy, well equipped, immaculately clean and so very comfortable. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the massive, enclosed and private garden where we had a couple of barbecues and enjoyed quite a few meals. Our dog loved it too and acted as unpaid guard dog whenever any vehicle entered the estate. When we needed to we made use of the log burning stoves and smart TV. The kitchen was a pleasure to work in with good quality and modern appliances and utensils. I have to say that the slipper bath in the main bedroom was just the height of luxury. The hall is just 2 miles outside Longtown which is home to a number of shops and services including an excellent butcher and a farmshop located just to the north of the town. I would thoroughly recommend Netherby as a destination for all, not just dog owners, but it really is dog friendly even down to a luxury dog food meal in the welcome pack.

We stayed in the Clock Tower which was a wonderful apartment. Everything was spotless and we felt very comfortable with the Covid precautions taken. So much attention to detail in the furnishing - absolutely stunning! And the grounds...all I can say is they were a joy to explore, especially in June with the Azaleas and Rhododendrons in full bloom. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. We will be back!
