Arrived on the doorstep as a family soaked rats on bikes. Received a warm welcome, bikes were stored in safe place amidst great artworks, all our wet & dirty kit washed & dryed over night. We had booked ahead and were given a hearty home cooked meal. This is a relaxed friendly family run place where we met with other... More

Ford House is very much a family home where you will be made to feel part of this unique ambience. We had the family room with en suite - which was perfect for our needs - comfortable bed and complete silence throughout the night...bliss! We asked for dinner on both nights and felt that we were on Master Chef! Far... More

This property suffered from an earlier negative review from someone put off by its family ambience/toy clutter. Our recent stay was graced by its family focus. We are Canadian grandparents riding the JoGLE project and were captivated by the opportunity to interact with a variety of families at Ford House. Inge and Craig's daughter was being the perfect hostess/age peer... More

Run by artists – Inge a painter, Craig a musician – Ford House is warm, comfortable, and faintly shambolic. Our room was clean and sizeable, and we slept well in it from the start. We were never too cold, or too hot, never short of anything, Inge made sure of that. She was a wonderful host, it was like staying... More

We really enjoyed our stay with Inge and Craig, who could not do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast we had was very good. Several people have commented on here about the shabbiness of Ford House. It is true that it is past its best and that it needs a lot of work doing to... More

We stayed here recently as it seems a good resting place travelling from the Isle of Mull to the Isle of Arran. Inge and Craig are nice hosts and serve a really good breakfast. The hotel has seen better days and is in desperate need of some TLC. A deep clean could already work miracles. The surroundings of the hotel... More

This hotel doesn't pretend to be a high class establishment. I would describe it as homely. There are a few children's toys and bits and pieces here and there. It could be a lot of peoples living room. It could do with sprucing up a bit outside and in but then the tariff would go up. Inge and Craig are... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights in April when visiting the nearby prehistoric sites in the Kilmartin valley. Inge and Craig were ever so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and the room spacious. The atmosphere is wonderfully homely and very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and certainly intend returning myself. The... More
