My husband and I had a fantastic stay here in advance of hiking the Cliffs of Moher. Susan could not have been more accommodating and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, private, and full of warm hospitality. We’d definitely return if we’re back on the west coast of Ireland!
stayed with Carmel and Martin in this beautiful area and what a lovely couple . they couldn't do enough for us . from once we arrived till we left Carmel and Martin were very welcoming . the beautiful breakfast we had was just delicious and the late night tea and scones was lovely . thank you Carmel you made us feel very welcome . Will definitely be back ! Olive
I would not darken the door of this b&b again. When we arrived the owner of the b&b met us in working clothing and had the same clothes on the next morning at breakfast He asked us what we wanted for breakfast the day we arrived and then when we went for breakfast the next morning they didn’t have what we asked for. They would need to get a cleaner in to clean the house in general as the dust was visible and was untidy. The owner showed us to our room where he proceeded to collect the dead flys from the floor and around our bedroom. And given the current situation in relation to Covid-19 hygiene should be at the top of every b&b owners list as there was no hand sanitizers visible anywhere.
Getting to Doolin is not easy, but once there you are in the midst of nature, pure, pristine and beautiful. You are close to the Cliffs of Moher from here. The B&B is lovely and warm. The couple running it are extremely delightful and have much to converse about. They have an adjoining farm and if you are an animal lover, this place is a further bonus as they have a number of farm animals one can pet and spend time with. They serve good wholesome food on request and everything is extremely reasonably priced. highly recommended!! Watch out though - technology and the couple running the place dont go hand in hand, so dont rely on emails to book!! A phone call pls!
Wonderful view and house. You can see the Cliffs of Moher from the house. The house is very comfortable and the two people living there are amazing. They cooked us a wonderful breakfast and were very excited to have us. Definitely a 5 star.
I was suppose to stay at this property check in was 1pm as I requested early check in. I got a call at 230pm on the day of check in while I was driving from dublin to clare (4 hr drive) by doolin sunset to cancel my room as she over booked. I booked elsewhere through google. The next day I checked my bank account and 13euro was removed from my account by doolin sunset I rang the woman who was extremely rude and hung up on me a few times. She told me to ring booking.com on the last call and hung up. I wouldn't reccommend.
Turned out they didn't have a room with 2 beds for us. Carmel, the owner, called to let me know about the mix up and to tell me she had made arrangements with another B&B near by. She took us to the new location, which was owned by a dear friend of hers. She made sure we were happy with accommodations before leaving us.So very sweet and apologetic. She was a great help. She is quite a character. Would have loved to spend more time with her.
This was such a fun place to stay! My daughter and I came for a week and a half and stayed a night here. We were entertained with the best stories and conversations as well as helpful info about local things to do. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic! If you’re looking for a super sweet hostess, a clean and friendly B&B, this is the place. They were remodeling but it didn’t interfere with anything and it’ll be even bigger and better when finished. Highly recommended! Best wishes from Texas!
The nicest people you will ever meet! Plus a gorgeous view, fresh eggs for breakfast from their own hens and lots of help with sightseeing plans. Carmel and Martin are the best. We loved our stay and recommend this place!
Over the past 17 years I have traversed this island on numerous occasions staying in a variety of accommodation Now and again you come across a real gem of a place that just ticks all the boxes Doolin Sunset is a true representation of Irish hospitality set in the tranquil environment of the country side: welcoming, friendly, helpful and above all genuine All qualities that are disappearing too fast in the modern world where technological comforts seem to be more important than creature comforts To Carmel and Martin: a big, big thank you for a most enjoyable and relaxing time in a superb atmosphere And the same to your family and friends for a most entertaining Tuesday night! Most definitely one for the book! See you next year same time, same place! Slàinte
