Book now! Do not delay another moment. The pictures cannot begin to do this stay justice. Coming from the states we had reservations on where to book our family of 21 for our wedding. The Lodge Doolin far exceeded all expectations. Not only did Diedre help us coordinate to meet all of our needs, she is warm and truly cares for all of her patrons. We have traveled all around the world and would put the Lodge Doolin at the top of our list of places to stay. I can only hope with how amazing a stay there will be any availability for patrons in the future because there should be quite the queue to reserve.

We were a family group of seven and we spent 5 nights at The Lodge in the building with five ensuite bedrooms. This review reflects both pros and cons with our stay. Pros: It is in a beautiful location and within walking distance of the village and the stunning Cliff walk. The owners left bread, milk, smoked salmon, and lots of other snacks for us which we very much appreciated. Layout of the property was good with lots of parking spaces. The house was pleasantly warm with plenty of hot water and high pressure showers. Short walk to local bars and restaurants. Owners and staff were very helpful and polite. Cons: The kitchen appliances are very old and in need of replacement. The under counter refrigerator was missing the freezer door and the icebox itself was badly in need of defrosting. Items left in the top shelves froze. There was another small refrigerator without a freezer section in the hallway. The oven vibrated loudly when in use and the hob was rusted. The dishwasher did not always clean the dishes adequately perhaps because some of the plates were too big and caught the rotor arm. The kitchen and some of the bathrooms seemed to be in need of a deep cleaning. The fabric chair seats in the bedrooms were quite badly stained. The shower in room 44 did not drain properly and overall the tiles were not clean. There were only 4 armchairs in the combined living/dining area and no coffee tables so drinks had to be placed on the floor. We did not have the correct number of cereal bowls and wine glasses but the owners were responsive and delivered them promptly. One toilet did not flush correctly but was fixed when we requested it. There is no washer or dryer in the property (but the owner kindly offered to dry clothes for us when we got caught in a shower.) The Lodge felt more like a hostel than a quality accommodation. The internet was down for the last two days of our stay and the owner advised that the router needed rebooting. Unfortunately the woman at reception did not know this. The owner advised that we should have called him. Overall the property needed a much deeper cleaning prior to our stay.

Decided last minute to spend the night in Doolin, was delighted when we got a room at The Doolin Lodge, very centrally located. Room was spotless and the shower was the best we've had on our road teip, powerful and hot. Anyone travelling around will appreciate that 😁

Just back from a lovely 3 day stay at The Lodge, Doolin. Fantastic place! Originally, I had booked a room for 2 adults and 3 kids. A family room with 2 double beds and one single. The day before we arrived, I called the owner, Deirdre to see if I could bring another adult, which was no problem. Not only that, when we arrived Deirdre actually upgraded us to a bigger room with 3 double beds, free of charge. I found Deirdre to be very friendly and helpful over our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds. There is a handy fridge in the room too. Our room also had a porch area for hanging coats, bags and leaving wet shoes. Always lots of hot water and lots of plenty of clean towels supplied. A fantastic base to explore Doolin, would highly recommend we’ll definitely be back to The Lodge in Doolin again. Thanks for a great weekend!

They were so poorly mannered, she asked us for a 200€ deposit which we wouldn’t be allowed to check in without, she did not communicate this properly before. When we were checking there was in no one was in the “reception”, we rang her to come and meet us for the keys and when we told her the description on the property said there would be someone in reception from 8am to 8pm she said “how well you saw that and didn’t see there would be a deposit “. And also she walked in to the apartment with her own key.

Further to your somewhat inaccurate and unfair review of our premises, I wish to clarify the actual facts for the readers. For a business that has been closed for most of the past year, it is deeply upsetting to see a person from the locality launching an unfair and personal attack on us, but I will attribute this to your immaturity as a guest and your own poor manners. The fact of the matter is that you and your friends received all of your booking details along with check in and check out procedures, you chose not to read these and decided that it was my fault that you didn't have any of this information when actually you had it all. You were asked to make contact and arrange an arrival time so that someone would be here to meet you, a fairly simple request one would imagine, I have all the information that was sent to you from my end, and would you believe that every single one of our other guests to date who received the exact same information have all managed to make the appropriate check in arrangements, but I suppose it's they who have been doing it all wrong, not you. Our reception is contactable from 8am to 8pm, I'm sorry that you took this to mean that there would be someone waiting there for 12 hours just for you and your friends to arrive, my attempt at humouring you on this, clearly went over your head....... Oh and finally, we both know that nobody other than yourselves used a key to your apartment during your stay. Hopefully you will go on to use this new account you've set up to perhaps promote the hospitality industry instead of tearing it down. Wishing you well.... Deirdre & Niall

Deirdre was not welcoming at all to our group, completely discriminated against us being a group in our 20s on arrival. She walked into our apartment with her OWN KEY TWICE while staying there on a 3 night stay. Completely unacceptable and not respecting our privacy. She treated us as if she was doing us a favour when we were paying to stay in the premises. I would not recommend this place ever.

Further to your review, I will clarify the details for the benefit of the reader. This unfortunately comes down to the fact that this guest chose to totally ignore all correspondence sent regarding check in and check out procedures and when they were respectfully explained on arrival, my Lord above, the utter shock and amazement that one would be asked to leave a security deposit or horror or horrors, arrange a check in time! What was completely unacceptable was your own level of rudeness, all of which I took in my stride and attributed to your immaturity. We have numerous groups staying here, over the past, many in their early 20's, younger than yourselves, and all have been absolutely lovely, respectful guests, who have taken note of our check in procedures and house rules that were sent to them, you will see that from the reviews they've posted, although, wait, I forgot you don't read the correspondence there..... It is nice to see that your friends...or maybe it's yourself...have set up new accounts on here to air your grievances, I hope this has given you some level of comfort and please note, it hasn't bothered me at all, I reported you to Trip Advisor so we will leave it in their hands and if they choose to leave your review here, at least my response is also visible and I have a feeling that the reader will figure it out for themselves. Wishing you well.

A wonderful family run business, with an amazing Irish breakfast. Conveniently located near wonderful pubs and the Cliffs of Moher. The rooms were spacious, bright, and recently remodeled. I would definitely stay here again.

I was a real surprise finding such a Scandinavian atmosphere in one hostel close the Cliffs of Moher (15' driving). The rooms are white and clean, furnished with wooden pieces on a wooden floors, so they looked really Scandinavian, in spite the stone building matched the properly the landscape around. You can choose between standard European or Irish breakfast, and both are quite good. Moreover it's so close to the cliffs of Moher, that you can arrive there before it's jammed with coaches and cars coming from Dublin area, that mostly arrive at midday. The village is tiny but cosy, and it's got a harbor where you can get a cruise to the Aran Island or seeing the Cliffs of Moher from the sea. A real interesting base for visiting that beautiful Irish County.

The Doolin Lodge is just the kind of place you hope for but rarely find. We were assigned a lovely room with a great view of the fields and farm animals just across the street and a glimpse of the ocean in the distance. The breakfasts were delicious and efficiently delivered on each of the 3 days we were in the area. We came and went as we pleased throughout the day and night and enjoyed our walks to the various pubs and shops of the village. We would definitely recommend The Lodge to anyone looking for a comfortable countryside setting and great hospitality.
