At my age, I have gotten to the point where I do not compose reviews. However, Daly House is an exception. My wife and I have stayed with Susan at least four times. The commitment to quality never changes. Susan is dedicated to her guests. No question is too small for her to tackle. The quality of her breakfast never changes. The staff which is largely family members is just as committed to the guests of Daly House as she is. One always gets a good night's sleep due to the quality of her bedding. Book early or she will be full.
My wife and I spent 2 nights in Doolin at the Daly House! It was our second stay with Susan. From the welcome, to our exit, there was not one negative at Daly House. Susan and family, have all the bases covered! It is one of our favorite B+B’s in Ireland. The rooms are spotless! The meals are delicious and the menu is top notch. Susan was great at recommending things to do in Doolin. If you plan on staying in Doolin, do yourself a favor and book Daly House, you won’t be disappointed!!
My husband and I spent a night at Daly's B&B and it was amazing. Susan made an amazing breakfast, in a lovely sunroom and knew it was our 40th anniversary. We had champagne and Susan left us a really nice card in our room. The place is clean, location is amazing and her hospitality was the icing on the cake. Wish we were there for more than 1 night
Daly’s House is the epitome of the perfect Bed and Breakfast experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were so welcome and at home with our very friendly reception by Kate. She brought us an Irish coffee, beer, and hot tea and took the time to sit down with us to talk like an old friend or family member. Her excellent suggestion to go to Liscannor to see the Cliffs of Moher was a perfect way to avoid the crowds and almost be alone with the beautiful entire view of them. The location of Daly’s House is so close and walkable to the lower, colorful Doolin town area and was perfect for a short stroll to Gus O’Connor’s Pub for a good dinner and evening of trad music. Our rooms across the hall from each other upstairs at the B&B were a great size for 3 adults and even had a special view of the Cliffs. Susan, who had been at a funeral when we arrived, met us the next morning for breakfast, and like her daughter, Kate, was so friendly and exactly what you hope for when you meet a B&B hostess. You can definitely tell their family has been involved with hospitality over generations. It was so nice talking to a local whose parents once owned Gus O’Connors Pub. The delicious omelette breakfast, her friendly brother Sean cooked for us, was presented so beautifully in a tearoom type setting on a table with china dishes and pedestal dish. Susan’s sister’s brown bread was definitely the best of our trip, and Susan’s yogurt/granola fruit parfait was absolutely delicious. Sean took the time to talk to us about our future itinerary after we ate and gave us suggestions. Then, Susan went above and beyond calling her doctor and getting an appointment to help with gout, which allowed us to enjoy the rest of our time in Ireland, even getting to hike the Gap of Dunloe in Killarney National Park. Thank you again, Susan, Kate, and Sean for welcoming us to your beautiful part of the world. Only wish we could have stayed longer!…
My mom and I stayed a few nights with Susan at her lovely home in May. Susan is such a joyful and welcoming lady, she makes you feel instantly as if her home is your home. The area is absolutely gorgeous, so quiet and peaceful. The rooms are so bright colored and “happy,” the beds are super comfortable, and the breakfast is phenomenal! Would highly consider staying here in the future, and would would definitely recommend if traveling near Doolin.
We stayed at Daly’s House for 2 nights, Sep 9 – 11, 2022, and our experience was perfect. Susan, the proprietor/owner, might very well have been an old friend – her warm greeting and great conversations were lots of fun. Also, very cool dogs, Bob and Ted, made the visit even better. Susan offered a drink upon check-in, and again the second afternoon, both in the beautiful garden, with beautiful views. A side benefit to this was a chance to visit with other guests – just enough to say hey and a quick chat about Irish experiences and not so much that any of us got in the others way. The home is very modern and well set-up for a B&B. The room (ours was no 1, Castleview) and bath were clean and modern, both with window’s that opened to the countryside and fresh air. Despite overlooking the countryside, the walk to Gus O’Connor’s and the Ivy Cottage restaurant was 3-4 minutes. Both with great food and reasonable prices. Susan pointed us in the right directions several times, from the Cliffs of Moher boat ride (a 10-minute walk from Daly’s house) to the Burren Perfumery (and wonderful coffee shop), to the sheep dog demonstrations at Caherconnell Fort. (The fort part of this is fascinating, but we didn’t spend much time at it…archeological and full of history. There are self-guided and guided tours of it.) Breakfast just may have been the best we had during our 10-day visit to Ireland – and that is saying A LOT. From the presentation of it, with beautiful china dishes, to the home-made yogurt/granola and especially the sausage and salmon. Then, on top of that, was the view that we enjoyed, sandwiched in between the front and rear gardens, was an extra, unexpected, relaxing experience. Also, be sure to check out the interesting, framed Guinness drawings of Rube Goldberg machines in the hallway. Allow 30 minutes to absorb these, especially if you have an engineering bone in your body.…
Of our 10 nights spent in Ireland, our stay at Daly’s House B&B was our favorite. The property was pristine inside and out. You couldn’t ask for a better view from the room with the beautiful garden surrounding the house and the castle/countryside in the distance. Susan made us feel well cared for from the moment we walked in, offering drinks and providing great recommendations for how to spend our time in Doolin. And breakfast was delicious!
We recently stayed for 5 nights at Daley's and found Susan Daley to be very welcoming as well as her daughter Katie. The place was beautiful inside and out. Susan was very accommodating in making reservations for dinner and/or tourist attractions in the area. I would highly recommend staying at this place. Breakfast was done very nicely, you won't leave hungry.
Everything about Daly's House is perfection. Communication in advance with Susan was easy and she gave us ideas about things to do in the area. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and enjoyed a drink on Susan's lovely patio. The house is comfortable and absolutely spotless. Susan has thought of all the little details required to make guests feel at home. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and included lots of options. The best thing about Daly house is Susan (and her brother). Susan made dinner reservations and boat reservations for us - we were so well looked after. I'll be back and highly recommend to others. The setting is also beautiful and an easy walk to the village and the pier.
Classy B&B. We were so well looked after, lovely place and food, lovely dogs too which always helps! Great, friendly and knowledgeable host as should be the case with a proper Irish B&B. All in all 10 out of 10.
