Just returned home after 4 great nights at he Doolin Inn. We had three rooms for five adults that were all clean, quiet, comfortable and well appointed. The staff is very friendly and accommodating - even at 1 AM when one of them had to return to let us in after we locked ourselves out! The breakfast is delicious with breads and scones as well as yogurt parfaits and smoothies served to your table prior to placing your order. I recommend the avocado egg toast. The location is also terrific with easy access to shopping as well as the cliffs of Moher walk. We had a delicious meal at Anthony’s on our last night that included live Irish music. Overall we had a terrific stay and I would definitely recommend booking at the Doolin Inn.
Only getting around to writing this now but just wanted to stay that I stayed here in April with my Mam and sister and we loved it. We were looking for something basic and budget friendly for a girls weekend trip and here did not disappoint. The accommodation was spotless and we paid for the breakfast which was amazing better than any hotel I have stayed in. The staff were all so friendly and made our experience all the better as they were so efficient and friendly. Will be coming back soon again even if just for the food. The location is great too as so close to cliffs of moher and walking distance to all the local pubs. Thank you Doolin Inn!! Adelaide xx
Great complementary breakfast, quick WiFi. And free parking. Location is ideal only 5/10 mins from the Cliffs of Moher. Lots of pubs nearby which offer music and great food. Would return in the future
Spent a night as a part of our road-trip. Since we were barely spending 12 hrs we chose this budget hostel and were happy with it. Good location, clean room with comfortable bunk-beds and a compact ensuite bathroom. Adequate storage and well lit room. Parking was across the road in the hotel/Inn part of the property. Breakfast was basic stuff, though they ran out of ham and cheese early and did not replenish on my request. Odd. Ignoring that, it was fine for a hostel.
Spotlessly clean and spacious room. Adequate breakfast and tasty. Staff could not do enough for us and were able to give us great recommendations for places to visit and eat out. Great location in Doolin and lots of beautiful places to see. Love this place. Will be back again next year. Highly recommend it. Date of stay: April 2019
2 adults and 2 children shared family room..It was spotlessly clean, new linen and mattresses and a great shower. We loved our time here. We did spoil ourselves and move over the road to the Doolin Inn for our final night. Gorgeous breakfast thanks to Sinead and Deidre. I would recommend and return someday.
The hostel was pretty basic. The key for the private room is the same as the key of the front door what everyone in the hostel has. It is very strange to me...the hostel is in a good location, there is bus 350 just outside of the hostel. anyway overall it was okay.
Slapping “hostel” on an establishment creates a certain image, at least for me. Should it have the same response for you, Doolin Hostel is the place to visit to reflect on your preconceived notions. After parking and checking in at the Doolin Inn directly across the street, we walked over and up to our second floor room. We were two in a bunk room for 4, which was certainly very spacious, with an en suite. Both the room and bathroom felt clean, polished, and modern. The entryway, lobby and dining space, and even the stairwell felt the exact opposite-old world, charming, and homey. From the woodwork to the tiles on the floor to the stove that would come to be lit later on the evening of our stay, the space was very inviting. We likely didn’t spend more than a waking hour in the hostel, instead spending time at the Cliffs and out in Doolin, but the space left a mark on us both. Doolin was absolutely charming, and the Doolin Hostel makes for an excellent base to explore the area from. Slept like a rock, partook of the expanded continental breakfast, and hit the road on our Irish adventure.…
We arrived late in the afternoon and found the only available room, which unfortunately had bunk beds and some problems with the sink drain. Even less fortunately, a young traveller spent much of the evening speaking – too loudly – on a phone call while walking in the corridor, and let's say we learned much of his travel experience. The staff is very kind (they also own the hotel opposite the hostel), and one can lower his expectation for a night during a trip on the road. But the wi-fi please-do-not-upload-photos-or-play-any-video rule is just ludicrous, as well as the inexplicable lack of eggs at breakfast. Not a disaster, but if I had more time I would have chosen something maybe a bit more far, but much more comfortable.
I stayed here a few months ago, and my time here was nothing special. I witnessed the owner belittling a member of staff in front of me and a few others. The food was average, I have stayed at other hostels where the food has been amazing. Also, the price for staying there for 1 night was extortionate. There are only two bathrooms downstairs, each have a toilet, shower and a sink. There was only 1 hand towel to share with many people, which I find highly unhygienic. In the kitchen there is a fridge for everyone to use, and when I went to find milk for my tea, it was expired. Also, the reception is in the Doolin Inn, which I find very unorganized.
