From the minute you arrive until you reluctantly leave this family run hotel, you will experience warmth, incredible food and amazing views over the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. Cecilia and Declan make you feel very welcome to their hotel. The private tour of the castle by Declan was very interesting. The small bar was a great additional feature. This is a great base for travelling around County Clare whether you want to go by car or on foot. There is an amazing walk from immediately outside the gate to Ballyvaughan which takes a good five hours walking Up and down the Burren green paths. This is a very special place to stay for people who appreciate old world charm and service.

This has to be my Number 1 on my list of hotel breaks. An absolute Gem of a hotel. From the minute we arrived until we left we were treated to absolutely wonderful Clare Hospitality by the O’Callaghan family. From Open fires in the drawing room, spacious bedrooms with stunning views, the quaintest bar for a cosy drink to the amazing food I couldn’t recommend Ballinalacken any higher. I cannot wait to go back

We spent over a week in this warm, quiet, special hotel. Every staff member kind, friendly and helpful. Amazing silence and comfort. The simple presence of wonderful silence, sea, sky and countryside views. Central location to amazing walking on the glorious Burren, with nearby villages for crafts, music, and local history. Aillwee caves and birds of prey minutes away for unique experiences. Ferry to islands. Doolin cave for geographical discoveries. So much to see, and all from the comfort and security of this old, timeless hotel, which has everything that a holiday should have....rest, silence, comfort. Very grateful there was were no noisy pools, tv lounges, discos. Thank you. We will return.

We were looking at last minute for somewhere to stay in Doolin, looked up TripAdvisor and this stood out. And i can confirm previous reviews hit the spot. Its very clean, strict adherence to government policies on covid, staff very friendly, and food excellent. Its more of a country house with a castle on the property. The bar is small but has all you need, dinner was a treat. Great views, menu offers great variety, and we stayed in quite a few 4 and 5 star hotels in Ireland and Europe, but dinner here could match them. Flavours etc ,thoughtful menu to suit everyone. People with reduced mobility may note steps are common and access may be a little more difficult, but in general, a very pleasant experience,in a quiet location, excellent staff and food, clean rooms, no one will be disappointed.

Great family run Hotel. The building has a nice mix of old world decor with a few modern touches. The family who run the place and the staff are so friendly. The rooms are really comfortable. The pièce de résistance of this hotel is it's food, outstanding. If you stay here make sure you book in for breakfast and dinner. The have a little residents bar out the back and the Guinness fantastic.
