A group of 7 of us had driven in from Dublin on all rural roads and came into Sheedy's all stressed out and from the time we walked in the front door we felt like family. Marian made us feel so welcome and Bertie greets you right at check in. He gave us all our dog fix for the night and helped us not miss ours so bad. Don't even get us started on the breakfast! Too die for! Best breakfast on our 7 day tour of the country. It is within walking distance to some of the most talented musicians in Ireland. It is also within walking distance to the Ferry out to Cliffs of Moher. Only suggestion on that would be if it's a super choppy day on the ocean, think twice about doing it.
I don’t think I can accurately convey just how wonderful Sheedy’s was during our stay in Doolin. We were there for our engagement, and booked a beautiful room at this B&B. Marian and Frank, the owners and operators, are absolutely exceptional people - some the warmest I’ve ever met in my extensive travels through Ireland, and for those of you who know, that’s saying something. The accommodation was immaculate in its comfort, cleanliness and appearance. We received a text the morning of our arrival asking to confirm an arrival time (they also live on site, so they tend to be home most of the time). We were met with a huge smile and welcome, and situated in our room in minutes, with all types of local information and recommendations. The breakfast is unbelievable. Frank, a chef, puts on a show at breakfast that will knock your socks off. The menu is extensive and each dish looks like a piece of art and tastes the same. Bertie, their pup, is always available for a play or some hugs as well! The day that we left, we found out they had been awarded best B&B in Ireland and 3rd in Europe. We can tell you it is well, well deserved. Thank you Marian & Frank for an incredible stay. We can’t wait to be back with you soon in Clare.…
From the minute that I began corresponding with Marian about our stay I knew that we were in for an exceptional experience, and that’s exactly what we had. My husband and I spent 3 wonderful nights at Sheedy’s and wish we could have stayed longer. Our room, Lighthouse, was spacious, stylish and spotlessly clean. There were big windows letting in lots of natural light and beautiful views of the countryside. I especially enjoyed looking out and watching the neighbor’s horse, donkey and 5 playful puppies on their grounds. The bed was big and comfortable with fine linens and the towels were big and soft. Plenty of hot water in the shower with great water pressure, plus luxurious soap and shampoo. The bathroom mirror was very cleverly lighted and made it easy to shave or apply makeup. Very good hairdryer, a nice closet to hang clothes, and a dresser with drawers. There was Netflix on the TV, but we were too busy having fun to watch. You’re right in the heart of town with convenient access to all the attractions of Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and beyond. Frank and Marian will provide useful tips for exploring, dining and listening to local musicians. Breakfasts will spoil you forever with a menu of enticing hot choices in addition to yogurt, fruit, cereal, pastries and more. The breakfast room is lovely overlooking the well-kept garden. There’s a cozy lounge with an honesty bar and a coffee maker in the room. Private parking is right in front. As if all this wasn’t enough, Marian and Frank are delightful beyond words. They’re so warm, gracious, accommodating and clearly devoted to making your stay as perfect as possible. And I can’t forget Bertie, their adorable sheepdog. He made my husband very happy. The price is very fair, the value is enormous. Don’t deny yourself bliss, just stay here.…
Thanks Marrian and Frank for a fabulous weekend break away with my elderly mother and 5yr old pancake loving daughter! Where do I start.....Sheedys bed and breakfast is an absolutely beautiful new build, full of luxurious amenities and comforts, it would give a high end hotel a run for its money! The attention to detail and decor in the bedrooms is second to none. And the breakfast was delicious, abundance of fresh and local product served to all daily. My little girl, was invited into the kitchen to learn how to cook her own pancakes under the watchful eye of chef Frank, the 2 became pals with many a tall tale being told🤣. Thanks again folks and we will definitely be back. Joan Portarlington County Laois
From the moment you step inside the door, you’ll be treated like royalty but also allowed space and privacy. Immaculate spaces, superb quality, gorgeous views, honor bar, and a breakfast feast that you simply must experience to truly appreciate. Don’t forget to try the cranberry-beetroot juice! Thank you Sheedy’s—we just left and already can’t wait to return! I wish I could give you 100 stars.
