Detailed Reviews
I traveled with 6 other friends to Ireland for a week from the states and we stayed here the first night of our Dingle hike trip. Maria was an amazing hostess! We settled in to our very clean and well-equipped rooms and then asked for a pub suggestion. Maria suggested McDermott's which was perfect for us. My group gathered upstairs afterwards for a nightcap and Maria brought up some adorable little round ice cubes and chatted with for a bit. We selected our breakfasts for the next morning and then went to sleep on the most divine sheets I've ever slept on. (And I'm a sheet snob!!) Our breakfast was delicious, hot and plentiful. We found out later that she didn't have kitchen help that day, but we would have never known if she hadn't told us later. The food was beautifully plated and delicious, coffee was yummy and hot, and the toast was excellent! There were plenty of snacks to take with us for our hike too. Back to the sheet snob...I looked all over for a tag so that I could buy them at home only to find nothing. I asked Maria about them, but she said that she got them from a local supplier. When I get the opportunity to go back, I will absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful location in the countryside outside Doolin.. our room had a glimpse of the Cliffs of Moher. Lovely clean comfortable rooms with excellent Wi-Fi. Great full Irish breakfast plus cereals and fresh fruit - catered for vegan. Dog friendly - rare in these parts. Lovely friendly and helpful host.

Ahh just home from a lovely weekend in Doolan with my family and sister in law from America. We had a lovely break only made perfect by a stay at this lovely B&B. From the moment of arrival Marie the owner was warm welcoming and very friendly. Showed us to our rooms which was really lovely. Rooms were well equipped with complimentary tea/ coffee. Bed and linen were so comfortable. I slept like a baby. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for Marie. She seemed to want to give all her guests a good feed. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. The photos do not do it justice.

We stayed here last weekend with our parents and two dogs and it couldn't have been better. Maria, the owner, was charming and lovely to the dogs; rooms were beautiful and more than spacious enough and the full Irish breakfast set us up for the day. Would recommend. Also, gay-friendly.

We were so lucky to have found this place. After a long day of traveling we arrived at a different B&B we had reservations at only to be told the owner cancelled our 3 room, 6 people reservations because he was hung over. It was near 8 pm on a Sat. night. We quickly got on our phones and found Saint Catherine's. The owner Marie graciously took us in at the last minuet. Checked us in, took our breakfast orders and sent us into town for a wonderful dinner and Irish music at a place she recommended. She turned around what could have been a terrible evening and 6 adults sleeping in a car.
Her home is immaculate with newly remolded bathrooms, very comfortable beds and the sheets she uses from a local person are amazing- It was the best nights sleep we had since arriving to Ireland a week ago.
She has local handmade soaps- again amazing and coffee & tea in your room.
When you go down for breakfast, take a look at every detail. Gorgeous linens on the tables with beautiful china await you. A huge variety of food and then Marie presents you with your breakfast order- she is a wonderful cook. I don't know how she was able to have all that ready for 6 additional adults but she did as though she knew we were coming all along.
Take a look at the details throughout the home, she doesn't miss a thing. The home is nestled in the gorgeous hills. This is what I imagine when I dreamed of visiting Ireland. I sat outside in the back to enjoy the splendor, and later sat in the front yard to take in even more. No matter what angle you look at your see the rolling green hills.
We all felt very lucky our other plans didn't work out because it lead us to Marie at Saint Catherine's. I wish we could have stayed longer and it was one of the highlights of our trip. You will be happy staying here. Thank you Marie for a wonderful experience.

Stay here! Located just a five minute drive from Doolin, this lovely bed and breakfast provides a much needed vacation from your vacation. The photos don’t do this home justice. Everything is impeccable, charming, and comfortable. Marie is the kindest hostess and a brilliant chef! I was sad to leave.

This is nicest B and B that I have stayed in years!
Clean, organized and well maintained. The owner is charming! About 1.2 miles from the village center. Wake up with the mooing of the cows and looking at the Irish country-side.

We booked a room at St Catherine's Farmhouse based on the Tripadvisor reviews even though it was a lot more expensive than most of the other local B&Bs. We paid 130 Euros per night for 2 nights. We booked direct rather than via a website which is another story.
When we drove up the drive, it looked tired and not at all like the pictures. There was a paddling pool discarded in the bushes on one side of the drive and a rusty bird feeder on the other side. No mooing cows and no view of a farm that we could see. The house is about 8 minutes drive from Doolin so if you want to walk into town for dinner, this isn't possible as it's down a lot of country roads. There are plenty of other B&Bs much nearer to the town and cheaper.
The room was fine and seemed clean although the fact that there was no curtain on one of the windows was a bit of an issue so we had to rig up one of the towels to keep out the light. On the first night back, the room was full of tiny flies that we just couldn't get rid of and is was too late to find Maria, the owner, to get a fly spray.
Maria is not young and it is clear that running a B&B with 5 double rooms is a lot for her to cope with, particularly when everyone needs breakfast at the same time. She is, however, very accommodating and when we had to change a guided walk because of the rain, she didn't object to us staying in our room until 12.30pm.
When we came to leave, Maria informed us that she doesn't accept credit cards. This was an issue as we didn't have 260 Euros in cash. She gave us the IBAN number for her account and we paid as soon as we got home and emailed her to tell her we had done so. I then spent a week exchanging emails with her because she said the money hadn't arrived. It turned out that it had but that she had given us the number for one of her other accounts rather than the one she usually uses.
Maria is a lovely lady and undoubtedly doing her very best for her guests so I feel mean leaving this review but we booked based on other reviews and wondered if we were staying in the same place as those reviewers. I'm sure that this B&B would suit some people (perhaps if you have a dog and other places don't take dogs) but we felt that it was very expensive for what it was and that there were many better, cheaper options that were nearer to Doolin centre. Also if you are staying here, either pay via a booking website or take cash with you.
