Michael extended a warm welcome from the time he greeted us as we got out of our car. He offered a delicious afternoon tea as he discovered our story and shared delightful stories of the Millstreet area. His spacious home easily accommodated our need for 3 bedrooms, which were large, fresh and clean. Up-to-date bathrooms, large, comfortable beds and a...

Spacious clean rooms, delicious homemade food, modern bathrooms matter. Yes! But with all this if you also luck out with awesome property managers/ owners then you can be sure this is a one of a kind B&B. Pam and Michael rocked our world with their stories, charm, and their large heartedness! We had to pinch ourselves to see if this...

On my way through Millstreet as part of my walking tour from Waterville in Kerry back home to Dublin, I was privileged to stay with Michael and Pam Thornton in their beautiful B&B Coolefield House some 4 km outside of Millstreet, Co. Cork. Coolefield is everything you could ask of from a B&B and much more besides. From the very...

We are delighted to welcome you to Coolefield House, our Georgian style home in a parkland setting, on the banks of the River Blackwater. We offer bed & breakfast accommodation in a comfortable, relaxed & informal setting. Coolefield House is both eco & guest friendly. The eggs we serve for breakfast are freshly laid and our breads are freshly baked. All our guests can enjoy complimentary home baked biscuits or cakes, tea and coffee throughout the afternoon and are free to relax and read a book from our library. We provide packed lunches on request and are happy to pick-up guests from the local train station. Located in the heart of Munster, amidst the rich pastures of the upper Blackwater Valley and in the shadow of the Derrynasaggart and Boggeragh mountains, this is the ideal base to sample the Great Outdoors of Cork & Kerry.
