We had a great experience at Bela Vista Lodge, in the small town of Novo Airao, 190 km by car from Manaus. The lodge has a great location, by the Negro River, and as the name says the view is awesome. The experience of having your meals and just admire the greatness of Anavilhas islands in front of you is...

We stayed here together with another family for 4 nights. Accommodations are clean and comfortable. The pousada is currently being expanded, so there was some construction underway. Meals were delicious with ample portions, always with a typical Brazilian menu. There are a few other options for meals in town, but not much variety (other than pizza) in terms of types...

We had a great time at Bela Vista and on the tour we booked with them. The posuada is beautiful with a lot of personal touch but without being overdecorated. Everyone on the staff was friendly and very helpful to us. Klaus, the owner is great company and knows Brazil inside out. The tour we went on was amazing -...

This pousada is really remote... its at the end of a road from Manaus. It takes about 3 hours to get there and then activities are a few more hours out by boat. Rooms are ok-- clean with good air condition. The breakfast area has a beautiful view of Rio Negro and breakfast was really good. However, they don't serve...

We wanted to have experience of Amazon River (River Negro) beyond Manaus, Brazil where many tourists spend their time. We had no health issues. We stayed at Manaus overnight and took day tour of Manaus. We stayed at Pousada Bela Vista at Novo Airao for three nights at a cost of R$210 per night. The hotel is 3 hours away...

We wanted to see the Anavilhanas area, but thought that the prices at the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge were outrageous and were looking for an alternative that would give us the same location, but at a fraction of the cost. This is a great bet--right on the Rio Negro and with the same excursions (Jau, pink river dolphins, etc.). We paid...

We had wanted to book into the Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge but only had two nights and one full day. They aren´t very flexible in picking guests up and working activities around them so we were very happy to find this German run property. Claus organized a taxi to pick us up which got us to his lodge just in time...

Novo airao is a great alternative to overcrowded Manaus. The lovely small town in the Amazon is less touristic and much calmer. The Bela Vista Pousada offers a cheaper version to the jungle lodge. However, it is still quite expensive - you find pousadas for about 40 R in the center. Nevertheless, the rooms are comfortable, breakfast is amazing and...

Spent a lot of time trying to find a small, personable hotel in the Amazon, relatively close to Manaus, with good service, nice accommodation and a true natural feel. Bela Vista did not disappoint! The rooms are nice and clean, the staff is very kind, the pool overlooking the Rio Negro is a real plus, the view of the river...

“You can either stay in one of the rooms facing the pool, which are lighter and larger, or a room with a balcony looking out into the trees by the riverbank - these are even quieter but dark. All have aircon and basic, decent sized bathrooms.”

“I would definitely specify to the hotel when making the reservation about how clean you would like your room. It seems that cleanliness is not a prioriry. Also a room away from the pool in the case you don't like noise in all time of the day or night. Brazilian's don't seems to understand that there are others to consider. They just party hard and loud.”
