Visited in July to stay with my wedding party and family members also booked rooms. Breakfast as good, rooms were clean and staff were accessible and more than accommodating. This time visited for a local Halloween party and was treated awfully. Chef was rude about friends house of mine. Was horrible to myself and the party was dreadful. Not much...

Having read the many reviews on this property, I concur, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately there's always a but! My biggest concern is I thought hotel rooms were supposed to have fire evacuation instructions on the back of the door or near to it?, there were none. similarly I thought that all electrical appliances have to be PAT...

What great value this hotel is. Yes, the rooms need modernisation, the whole building does really. It is a typical country manor house. High ceilings, beautiful wooden staircase. Aging and in need of repair but everywhere was spotlessly clean. We stayed in room 6 which was surprisingly spacious with a big old fashioned bathroom (great shower, lots of hot water)....

Beautiful grounds, lovely building, but a hotel in need of some intensive TLC. The linen was clean and the service was personal and attentive and while you don't expect an historic manor house to have the character modernised out of it, the place needs a spruce up. It reminded me of nearby Plymouth in micro; an historic venue that didn't...

As a base camp this is a beautiful spot. Location is terrific, the on site restaurant is good and the welcome is lovely. However, it is a value hotel and although the beds and bathrooms are spotlessly clean the building/furniture etc is tired with dead hanging baskets etc. Breakfast is cheap and cheerful but if you're not downstairs early things...

The location of the old manor house is great. The rural setting is pretty and relaxing. Although it’s only minutes away from the city you are way out in the country. That includes the roads leading to it: very narrow lanes, scary for continental Europeans. The house itself remembers on the ground floor of its hay days with high stuccos...

Had the most pleasant stay ever in an english pub/hotel. The building has an old world class on it, but is run pleasantly informal. The inkeeper was very friendly. It is run with a personal touch rather than just being the next guest. The food was simple but really, really good! Enjoyed the stay very much, we will be back!

What a treasurer this place is. Old but comfy and clean. Friendly and helpful. My husband and I spent 3 restful and computable nights at Welbeck Manor. Sitting outside over looking a golf course on warm summer evenings was a real pleasure. Our breakfast was always beautifully cooked and served by a singing John. We were lucky enough to lay...

It was a narrow road lane off the carriage way to get to the hotel but when we pulled up it was beautiful. We arrived quite late so missed food which was a shame but hopefully next time! We were greeted by Dave who was absolutely amazing and such an awesome guy! Really friendly and more than helpful. Full of...

Amazing choice of stay. Would definitely recommend and consider staying again. It's out in the sticks so it is necessary to drive places but have no faults at all. Lovely old building and lovely staff. Everyone made us feel welcome including other travellers. Food is good and drinks are very reasonable prices. Not far at all from the famous Dartmoor...
