One of our favourites for the bar & restaurant. During lockdown Aisling & her team have continued to produce superb quality takeaway menu. She even delivered our food personally to my home. Highly recommended during a visit to Dunfanaghy
We stayed in this characterful, cosy hotel as part of a wonderful riding holiday. I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the traditional decor, outstanding service (the best I’ve ever experienced), and phenomenal meals in the attached restaurants, this was the best stay I’ve had in all my travels. This is a traditional (yet forward-looking) family-run hotel, where everyone from the multiple generation owners (who are highly involved in all aspects) to the responsive and helpful staff genuinely care about the comfort and enjoyment of guests. The level and quality of service blew me away. This extends to the restaurant, pub, and cafe where we ate daily (the food was so good that we ate all our meals in one of the three each day—no need time eat elsewhere). We were in a renovated room facing and bay, and I couldn’t have asked for a homelier room or nicer view. On top of all this, I have never met a more caring group of people as the owners and staff. One of my travel group experienced an emergency during our holiday (completely unrelated to our stay), and the care and attention the owners and staff at Arnold’s offered was incredible. This is truly a very special establishment, a place where guests are treated liked family and you’re guaranteed to have a fantastic stay. We can’t wait to be back when travel opens back up. Thank you to everyone at Arnold’s who made our stay so pleasant and memorable! 💖…
We had a two-night stay here during our two-week tour of the country. The biggest positives are that it's centrally located in Dunfanaghy with warm and friendly staff, plenty of parking and breakfast was decent. The downside was the hotel felt drab, especially the corridors leading to the bedrooms, and our room, which had a small window, had some furnishings that were well past their prime, and overall was dark and dreary. We felt it didn't merit the (high) tariff we were charged and would recommend looking elsewhere.
A lovely hotel situate in north west Donegal. You feel that your custom is appreciated, which cannot be said about a lot of hotels nowadays. Aisling and her staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. All the staff we encountered knew their job and made guests comfortable in their surrounding in these challenging times. We stayed for two nights and were sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy all that Dunfanaghy and the surrounding areas have to offer. If you are in this neck of the woods don't pass Arnolds. Excellent food and spacious and comfortable rooms. We will be back.
My wife and myself stayed in Arnold's hotel for an overnight stay to celebrate a birthday in August. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The location was great in the middle of the picturesque village of Dunfanaghy. The hotel was fully compliant with the restrictions in place due to the pandemic and the management and staff did their best to make the stay as normal/comfortable as possible in the difficult circumstances that prevail at the moment. All the staff at the hotel were very attentive and friendly and went about their job with great efficiency and with little fuss. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Both were thoroughly enjoyed with the quality and quantity very much to our satisfaction. The bedroom was very clean and well laid out and the bed was massive and very comfortable. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and I would highly recommend the hotel.…
