Visited for a weekend with my wife. Warm welcome from the owner who was very helpful in advance of our visit and also during our stay. Unfortunately the breakfast was not available for the two days we stayed but there are a couple of lovely local cafes that provided a great breakfast. The B&B is an old style building and the décor, furniture and facilities are perhaps in need of some refurbishment. A harsher reviewer may have made more of an issue of these failings but it some ways it adds to the experience. If you are looking for accommodation with all the modern bells and whistles this is perhaps not the place for you but it suited us well and at €80 per night it provided us with a good base for our trip. Close to a bus route and a €17 taxi trip away from Jonny Foxes bar. The bus into Dublin takes about an hour.…
I had to change my plans quickly and called Ferndale to see of they could put me up for the night at a moment's notice. I believe it was around 5pm, so certainly not usually possible. Noel and Josie were incredibly gracious and friendly, accommodating and warm, full of good advice and good cheer and sent me off with plenty of information about how best to enjoy the beauty of Enniskerry.
We had a wonderful stay at Ferndale. Josie was recovering from knee surgery so we didn’t see her often. Noel was an exemplary host. He made an excellent breakfast and there was always a good conversation with each meal. We loved the brown bread. Josie gave us the recipe and now my husband makes it almost once a week. Beautiful rooms and within walking distance of Powerscourt. Good place to have dinner across the street.
We stayed here. Owner was awful rude from the beginning. Had to order breakfast night before and no full irish available which is standard in Irish B&Bs. One of our room had mole in it. Breakfast next day had gone off butter and when asked for more toast was asked rudley what more. For 100 per room I would not recommend.
We hit gold!!! Our family had the opportunity to stay at Ferndale B&B and we loved it. The house was beautiful, the town was amazing and our hosts, Joel and Josie, made our stay absolutely magnificent. We enjoyed our daily, fresh breakfast. Did I mentioned the gardens!!!
Absolutely gorgeous place to stay in beautiful Enniskerry. Hosts Joel and Josie, and their son, went above and beyond for our family who stayed multiple nights here. The home is in immaculate condition with beautiful architectural details, and the rooms were spotless and accommodating. The breakfast each morning was consistent, elegant and delicious, and their large winding garden was a beautiful and serene place for any time of day, in addition to the entry way to the home. Our part of the family had 2 children, so we had a family room, and they were very accommodating for the children as as well. In addition to the hosts being so gracious they also were a wealth a knowledge on things to do while we were there. I would absolutely recommend staying here when visiting Enniskerry or surrounding areas! We also had other family occupy various of the other rooms and each was just as gorgeous as the others. All of us had a wonderful experience and cannot say enough about the quality of Ferndale House B & B, and the hosts.…
Hosts Noel and Josie went out of their way to make us feel at home. Their garden is delightful and the B&B is next to everything. Their recommended walk to the Powerscourt Estate and gardens was a highlight, and breakfast this morning was great , with Noel's scrambled eggs the best ever.
We stayed at Ferndale for 3 nights earlier this month. Noel greeted us and was very helpful in suggesting places to visit and introducing us to others. The garden is beautiful and there is easy and safe parking.
As there were some problems with our booking in another hotel in town, we were hastidly searching for a place to stay. As we rang the doorbell, a friendly host opened the door and showed us the available room, where we stayed that night. The bed (the quality of the matrass as well as te size of the bed) was excellent! The room was very clean and quite big. We have slept at the road- side of the house, but we heard no noise during the night. The breakfast contained everything that we needed and was organised in a nice room. The building itself is also very impressive and off course well maintained. We would surely recommend this B&B!! Stef and Hanne (Belgium)
Staying at Ferndale House bang in the center of Enniskerry was just perfect for our day of arrival in Ireland. We made good use of food, doctor, and pharmacy I. Town as well as walking to beautiful Powerscourt. The owners, Noel and Josie, were gracious hosts and good cooks. We appreciated having a room in the lower level with a beautiful view over their blooming back garden.
