Among nice scenic views we enjoyed in Ireland, we also faced some unexpected disappointments - 'Coolakay House' was certainly the worst with regard to hospitality & attitude !! - as of family travel trip, we ordered all accommodations ahead, nice looking & high rated one's along our route - we preferred to skip Dublin, so Coolakay location seemed nice as first night position for Wicklow area - photo's & views were nice & promising, BUT... upon arrival there was serious problem with the shower - NO hot water, and water stream was shameful! (the whole shower mechanism was clearly outdated) - I have immediately informed Yvonne husband who promised to come 'as soon she return from shopping'.. after nearly 30 minutes, I had to ask AGAIN and they both came with 'sour' face.. instead of suggesting any solution (or other rooms) they argued & 'barked' at us 'we had dozens of visitors, no-one complained" presenting us as 'rude' guests asking for 'luxury'.. in order to take a shower, we had to dismantle! the old shower head so that water flow is one stream like 'army shower', but at least "reasonable"... (next morning 'surprisingly' we had hot water, meaning they have not taken care to turn on water heater ahead!) - TV was kind of joke (more of computer screen hanged way up) and upon check out 'CCs not accepted' (that was NOT mentioned upon order confirmation) No need to say - stay away! (Note photo's, disappointment was much bigger as of the nice yard photos and reviews !!)

I have to say that Yvonne is the nicest host I have met in Ireland so far. As soon as we arrived she showed us to our room. It was tidy, clean and decorated with much love. She then made us reservations at a nearby restaurant as we were very hungry from a long days drive. She goes out of her way to make her guests feel welcome. The breakfast ist great as is the location. Thank you Yvonne for making this last stop unforgettable.

Lovely stay at Yvonne’s. She is the kindest hostess you can imagine, she awaits you with a nice cup of coffee or tea and is genuinely interested in your trip. If you would like to go to dinner, she’ll call you a cab. Breakfast was great and the surroundings are simply stunning.

This B&B is clean, bright and charming and runs like a well-oiled machine. It is great value for money. My room was clean and comfortable with a good shower. The breakfast room had great views. The full Irish Breakfast was delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. Yvonne is an admirable manager and worker. The view from my bed room wasn't great but everything else was off the charts. Many thanks Yvonne.

Our stay was the perfect start to our Ireland holiday. Yvonne is a delightful host. The breakfast was perfect! Delicious, top-quality items. So enjoyable! Rooms were clean with plenty of room. Make sure to walk to the top of the hill! Unbelievable views in all directions! Worth the trek. And if you happen to catch Robert in his agricultural museum, check that out too. We got to nosy around and so glad we did. Yvonne’s tips and directions added to our trip. Lovely place with lovely people! Would certainly stay there again.

What a great stay we had. From the warm welcome till the departure we enjoyed the spirit of Yvonne. She is the most friendly lady you’ll ever meet. And having Kevin the cab driver showing us around from the pickup until diner added to the best stay during our hike.

My sister and I wanted a few days away to enjoy the fresh air and meet up with friends. Coolakay was the first accommodation we looked at! It was perfect! For us everything was spot on. We loved our room, breakfast and Yvonne was the perfect hostess. Weather wise we had three of the best days in January. Glorious! We hope to return to Coolakay this year. If you need renewed do not miss staying at Coolakay!

My sister and I were in Ireland for a week in October. Our last night we stayed at Coolakay House in Enniskerry and our wonderful hostess was Yvonne. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. The B&B is a working sheep farm and we enjoyed our visit, and even went so far as to climb to the top of the hill for the view. In our hurry the next morning to catch a flight I had, by accident, left a necklace with a portion of my husband remains. Yvonne went out of her way to make sure I got this very important piece of jewelry back. We highly recommend this lovely B&B.
