The staff in the hotel are really excellent, in particular in the restaurant where they are very efficient, friendly and attentive. Food is of high quality and the breakfast buffet was varied very well presented. The hotel is a little dated and jaded in places, and the room had zero ventilation or air conditioning, but these are minor issues, and it is a nice choice for a short break. The bar and restaurant have great views of the falls. The hotel is really only let down by the sloppy effort of their Spa facilities. The outdoor Jacuzzi and sauna were out of commission and the guy at the Spa welcome counter was borderline patronising, you felt that your presence was interrupting his phone-fiddling time. Changing room lockers had no keys, hence unsecure for storing phones and wallets, and only provided cold showers. Irritatingly you had to pay €3.50 for a flimsy branded hat to use the pool. If towels are complementary, so should the hat be, they are washable like towels. The whole ‘spa’ effort is a real let down and needs some serious overhauling to match the hotel standard.

The Falls Hotel & Spa in Ennistymon, looks just like another limestone building located near the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. The hotel is green and powered by hydro generated by a river running long its property border. The building has a Georgian façade and is surrounded by 50 acres of parkland. The spa is connected to the leisure club and facilities include a pool, gym sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and outdoor hot tub. The furnishings and décor maintains the time period when life was more gentile. I might add that the hotel has a full-service restaurant and bar and that the food is fantastic. If you are looking for some R & R in an area known for its natural beauty, the falls is the place to go

Arrived at this hotel and did not know what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised, beautiful gardens and decor. Got a bit of a shock when I was handed an actual key for the room instead of a card but room was nice, ideal size for a family of 4. Food in the hotel bar was lovely and special mention to the lady hostess in the bar , lovely woman and accommodated our request for a seat with a view. A lot of young people working in the bar and at breakfast and I have to say they were great , it was the best service I have had in Ireland. They really are a credit to the hotel work hard and always smiling . Music in the bar in the evening was very good and loads to do in Co Clare. Would defo recommend for the fab service , location and relaxed atmosphere.

My three-year old was playing with a plastic saw on our first day. It made a noise on a hard plastic table. An extremely aggressive and sloppy looking man appeared out of nowhere and shouted at us that we “wrecking his table”. I pointed out that there wasn’t any sign of a scratch - but he continued to berate us. It turned out that he was the General Manager of the hotel. Another manager confirmed to me that he had witnessed the scene, and expressed his surprise at the GM’s behavior which he claimed was “out of character “. The GM apologised at breakfast the next morning. I told him he needs to get a handle on his anger, at which point he loudly repeated the same nonsensical diatribe before storming off. I was really surprised how someone with his temperament and lack of social skills had obtained a GM role. I later found out he’s the Owners’ son. I’ve never experienced anything like that and would strongly recommend everyone to avoid.

I was just on to reservations at the Falls and I have write a glowing review. After calling various similar destinations on the west of Ireland I was gob smacked at the prices being quoted for a family stay for 1 or 2 nights. The Falls are and should be commended for not joining the price gouging brigade. I've stayed previously for weddings and the like and the hotel is excellent; food - rooms -pool and brilliant staff. Word of mouth marketing is the best and Falls Hotel will be getting abundantly from me. Many thanks to get lovely woman on reservations today;)

Fall in love with the Falls. We loved this spot. So many lovely and welcoming common areas, makes it so hard to choose! Our room was delightfully “roomy” with a decadent claw foot tub. The service was stellar, and Damian was a star. Reception so accommodating and ever-present to answer any query. Thank you team! Representing this property with perfection!

Just spent two nights at The Falls Hotel, Ennistymon. I had been disappointed that I couldn’t get accommodation in our usual haunts In Lahinch and ‘settled’ for The Falls for our last minute trip. We had afternoon tea there previously and it was excellent so I’m not sure why I thought the hotel would be somehow ‘less’. It wasn’t. The meal in the dining room on the first night was first class. The room was bright and ‘airy’ - important in this post covid world - no feeling of people being on top of one another. The bedrooms were similarly impressively decorated - they seem to be going through a ‘re-furb’. If there was a niggle there it was the pillows were not full or particularly comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, staff were lovely and anxious to assist. Ate in the bar on the second night and that was first class also. Staff lovely there too. Looked into the gym, spa and pool adjoining the hotel - gym was well fitted out with all the equipment you would need for a good workout. If there was any downside to the stay it was around the reception staff who were a little ‘surly’. Maybe they were having a bad day but it means so much when you get a welcoming smile from staff - especially reception staff. I’ve stayed at Ardagh Manor and they seem to make a particular point of have all staff smile and say hello to guests when they meet them - not in a ‘Stepford Staff’ kind of way. Just pleasant. Whether that is in the corridor or wherever. Accommodation staff, bar staff, reception staff, dining staff - it costs nothing and means so much. It also might mean that they get a tip - reception didn’t but everywhere else did. Summary - we will be coming back to the Falls and if you are in the area give it a try. Great for families and for Weddings - two on the two days we were there. The son of the family who owns the hotel also has an eatery/pub in Lahinch ‘Danny Macs’ - great food, very reasonable and lovely staff there too’. Enjoy your holiday.
