We recently returned from a 4-night break in Lahinch Coast Hotel, where we enjoyed our stay in a spacious 2-bedroom wheelchair accessible suite. This 4-star hotel is in a wonderful location along the Wild Atlantic Way; Lahinch Beach is within walking distance, while Cliffs of Moher are a short drive away. A set down area is located beside reception, which features a low-level counter. A large secure carpark can be found towards the back of this hotel. A designated parking bay is close to the accessible suite; although this entrance involves an incline, while the opposite entrance is on level ground. The accessible suite is spacious with kitchen and living area. The accessible bedroom features a double and single bed, desk and blackout curtains. However, both curtains and wardrobe were inaccessible due to lack of space alongside both beds; low level wardrobe railings are also required here. Accessing the bar/restaurant for breakfast/dinner from the accessible suite is quite a task, as it involves taking an elevator, carpeted corridors and two manual stair lifts. As shown in attached photos the accessible bathroom is spacious with a bath and shower. However, this shower requires necessary modifications in order to accommodate a wheelchair user adequately. For example, removal of glass partition surrounding lower half of shower area, as this is obstructive when transferring from a wheelchair; removal of shower base completely as a raised base causes instability, creating an uneven surface. Shower controls are reachable from the folding shower seat; bathroom mirror is at a correct height. Unfortunately, the grab rail was missing from beside the toilet. A good variety of food is available for breakfast; we also enjoyed dinner in the hotel each evening. Staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. Overall, Lahinch Coast Hotel is in a great location, and with above modifications a wheelchair users’ stay could transform from manageable, to comfortable and convenient.

We just got back last week from this hotel. We stayed for four nights. I requested a quiet room and we got a lovely one. It was so clean and cosy and we all slept great. The staff at the hotel could not have been nicer and the restaurant and common areas were very clean and modern. It was in the centre of town so we could walk to everywhere. We left our charger for the Ipad behind and they posted it back to us. It arrived today with my glasses that I had looked everywhere for. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone.

We were meant to stay here in October last year but due to covid hotels were closed. We booked same time this year for 2 days we paid for a deluxe room in the new part of the hotel, when booking I asked if possible for a view as it's our anniversary. When checking in the man on the desk said the hotel does not really have any views but this room had a partial view. We came up to our room and on the desk was a note wishing us a happy anniversary and a bar of chocolate that was a nice touch. Our first impression of the room was spacious there was partial views of the sea which was nice, and also that they listened to our request. Shower had ample pressure but the water was only luke warm possibly because it's the old part of the hotel. Not a big issue though. Location is great, bed was very comfy, staff are friendly, ample free parking, breakfast was great, good selection of cereal and hot items something for everyone. We had a hot breakfast both days and could not fault anything. Evening dinner we had on our second night service was excellent food was great we both had the steak which was cooked perfectly. We both had dessert pavlova which was huge portion and very tasty. We were speaking to Denise who served us and informed us the hotel will be closing the 31st of October for renovations to bring the hotel up in line with the newer part which will only make the hotel even better to stay in. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation if coming back to Clare to stay in this hotel again. Hopefully we can get this room on our return

On booking this hotel the reviews were good and the pictures all looked great. The price for 5 days stay was also great, so we chose it as a base for traveling around Clare. When we arrived the reception and bar area all looked great and modern feel, but once you go past reception on the way to the room its all beige and feels dated. The hotel is closing from the 30th Nov until mid Feb for a refurb, so my issues could all be resolved then. We were in a deluxe double room, which had 2 bedrooms off a large empty hall in the room, but one was locked. The hall was useful as the table and chair could be moved there from the room to give more space. The rooms were clean but felt a little dated. The net curtain it the bathroom should be replaced (dirty, dated and held in place with 2 screws) with a blind or better some frosted glass effect. The bedroom needed the small curtain rail replaced as its was coming out of the wall since screwed into plasterboard, so once closed was left that way. There was a balcony where the curtain at the door opening needed cleaning from blowing out into the ground, also had 2 chairs but no table!! The bed was nice and comfortable, but had to remove cobwebs from over it after looking at them when lying down, similarly the stained wall under the side board where someone spilt a drink could be seen. The leisure center was good and big with pools and jacuzzi (steam room and sauna closed for covid), no broken bits around so well maintained, but beige paint again. Staff were all great and helpful. The food and drink were also good. Location is also perfect in the center of town near the prom, beach and pubs.
