Stayed 4 nights w my golf foursome in early June. Great room, clean as a whistle, very comfortable bed. Terrific breakfast included. Very fair price. My only suggestion would be to add a comfortable place to sit outside to have a smoke.
From the minute we walked in the lady at the front made us feel welcome! The hotel is wonderful and we had no idea how close we were to the famous Lahinch Golf Course! Would have definitely built another day in to play the course. Had a very nice made to order breakfast. Very nice quaint town and definitely walk down to Lahinch Beach. Would stay here again!
Four of us had fish and chips and we have never been treated to fish and chips that were so good. Absolutely delicious!! We asked the server what’s their secret and he said the fish is caught locally and is very fresh. Light but wonderful batter. The only problem was the portions were so huge we couldn’t eat all of it. We probably would have split our orders two ways if we did it again. Alas, we are home from Ireland and probably will not have the opportunity. If we were back in the area we would make a beeline to Vaughan’s!!! Don’t miss.
Michael Vaughan, the proprietor, went over and beyond for our stay at his hotel. First of all, he was very helpful in celebrating my husbands 70th birthday… made a delicious, decorated cake, presented on a silver platter, with bowls of ice cream. The whole restaurant sang along! But on top of that, when the laundry service wasn’t operating, he took our clothes home and washed them him self! I mean who does that? So on top of the very nice rooms, lovely bar and food, the customer service is beyond anything I’ve ever seen! Many Thanks!
We had a beautiful meal, the best of our week’s trip so far, in this Lahinch restaurant. It is situated slightly away from the beach but an easy walk in a hotel. The restaurant was well spaced and our table had a lovely view. Food and service wonderful. We started with goats cheese and calamari and then both had John Dory on a saffron risotto. Beautifully presented and tasty with friendly service. Would highly recommend
What can I say !! we had the two most enjoyable days in Vaughan lodge. Firstly the staff from the owner Michael (who should give master classes on the art of customer service) to Martina and Joanna joint front of house staff who were superb to Amy the breakfast waitress who couldn't be more helpful and finally to the unseen housekeeping staff who maintained our beautiful rooms to such a high standard. The food, both the breakfast and dinner, was excellent as attested to by all members of the party who have experience in dining in well known restaurants and hotels. I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay and of course you can experience the beautiful scenery of County Clare including The Cliffs of Moher. Jacyntha
Vaughan’s is right up my street it’s a small family owned and operated business within a 5 minute stroll to Lahinch. From check in to check out everything was excellent. The rooms are spotless and very generous in size they have everything you could need plus more….. a clothes line in the bathroom ideal for drying my togs after a dip in the sea! Beds are so comfortable too. We had dinner one evening the menu is small but plenty of choice with a number of additional evening specials, there was something to suit everyone and ingredients were locally sourced. Everyone really enjoyed the dinner, I had scallops to start and halibut for my main both of which were cooked beautifully. Breakfast each morning was a great success items cooked fresh and a great choice from fish, omelettes and poached eggs to name a few, the homemade Brown bread was delicious, I’m still thinking about it. Our stay was so enjoyable, it’s a credit to Michael Vaughan and his team, in testing times they know what they can achieve and they do it exceptionally well.…
We stayed in Vaughans Lodge last week for two nights on the recommendation of a friend. The whole hotel was spotless, the bedrooms are well furnished, light & spacious with good desk space & great internet connection to work from. The bedrooms also have a great shower & some sort of modern, fiddly coffee machine in the corner It's in a great location, 3 minutes walk takes you to the centre of Lahinch & 4 to the promenade for a most lovely easy walk. Breakfast was delicious & very generous, with choices of full cooked or quality continental, it was really excellent. As we stayed on Mon & Tue understandably the restaurant was closed, ( fish deliveries don't happen on Mondays, also Chefs need time off too). In Ireland, hotel restaurants are traditionally closed on Mondays and as we were invited out on Tuesday we missed what I've heard is a delicious, wonderful experience. If we're ever back in Lahinch I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else, and I'll definitely try & make it down when the restaurant is opened. Thank you to Michael & all the lovely friendly staff for a great stay.…
We stayed in a very comfortable room in Vaughan's Lodge, we enjoyed two excellent breakfasts, unfortunately we were unable to eat in the restaurant as it is not open on Monday nights. The other night we were invited to friends! The hotel is spotless clean and the staff were brilliant, Once again thank you for an excellent stay.
Fabulous small boutique hotel with super staff. Attended a wedding here 10 years ago and returned for weekend for first time since and as expected it was again amazing. I left my watch charger in the room and upon emailing the hotel it was immediately posted to me for no charge.
