Detailed Reviews
Just spent a very enjoyable couple of days in the beautiful Vaughan Lodge in Lahinch. This is a family run hotel and you can tell the owners take pride in the property and in taking care of their guests. There is attention to detail in everything - in the food, which is first rate, to the decor, which is comfortable and inviting and in the interaction with the guests which is genuinely warm and welcoming. Micheal and Maria Vaughan are definitely ‘hands-on’ owners and are there to ensure operations run smoothly. Michael is the third generation of Vaughan Hoteliers in Lahinch and the next generation is showing impressive industry also obviously having learned from the best. Every one of the staff is similarly warm and helpful. This is a great location for a weekend break, romantic getaway or a Golfing break with the hotel 5 minutes walk from the Lahinch Links Course where the Irish Open was played in 2019. The property is 10 minutes walk from the centre of town but all the better for it as it is not troubled by the noise of late night revellers. Give this gentile option a try on your next trip to Clare.

Just returned from a two night stay at Vaughan Lodge, would highly recommend this property to anybody concerned or having doubts about travelling at this time. Everything about the property is fab but the cleanliness and attention to the guidelines surrounding COVID-19 is just perfect, the owners deserve huge credit for the care and attention guests are receiving during their stay.
The public area bathrooms were spotless, sanitizing stations were available in all necessary areas, bedrooms immaculate, limited rooms sold so that social distancing is maintained at breakfast and likewise at dinner with limited dining reservations available.
Breakfast was excellent and dinner there on both nights was outstanding, unfortunately the weather was not great but we thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Vaughan lodge and looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed in Vaughans Lodge last week for two nights on the recommendation of a friend.
The whole hotel was spotless, the bedrooms are well furnished, light & spacious with good desk space & great internet connection to work from. The bedrooms also have a great shower & some sort of modern, fiddly coffee machine in the corner
It's in a great location, 3 minutes walk takes you to the centre of Lahinch & 4 to the promenade for a most lovely easy walk. Breakfast was delicious & very generous, with choices of full cooked or quality continental, it was really excellent. As we stayed on Mon & Tue understandably the restaurant was closed, ( fish deliveries don't happen on Mondays, also Chefs need time off too). In Ireland, hotel restaurants are traditionally closed on Mondays and as we were invited out on Tuesday we missed what I've heard is a delicious, wonderful experience. If we're ever back in Lahinch I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else, and I'll definitely try & make it down when the restaurant is opened. Thank you to Michael & all the lovely friendly staff for a great stay.

From checking in, to dinner, to checking out the Vaughan Lodge was flawless. The rooms are impeccable and the installation of foot-pumped hand sanitizers an added bonus.
Our dinner:- what can I say. For starters we both had Scallops (delicious) and for main we both opted for the beef. The beef was in fact one of the best steaks I have ever tasted.
Michael Vaughan was the perfect host and the staff were ever accommodating.
We made a promise to ourselves that we would stay at the Vaughan Lodge every year, even if only for one night, but Covid-19 put a roadblock in our way. Our resolve is more than ever to make this an annual getaway.
Well done to Michael and all his staff at the Vaughan Lodge Hotel. Your standards are impeccable and our short trip cemented the fact, in our opinion, that ALL other small hotels could take notes from you.
Again, WELL DONE 👏!!!!!!!!

We chose Vaughan's Lodge for our staycation in County Clare and it was by far one of the best stays we've had. It's clear from the moment you check in its a family run business with friendly staff and a cosy feel. However it is also big enough to not feel suffocating. We dined in VL and the food was amazing, top 3 steaks of our lives. Again the waitress was very friendly, stopping to give us recommendations for our stay. The bar is cosy, the perfect place for an after dinner drink. The cleaning staff made sure to check we wanted housecleaning services, something important in these Covid days and when we checked out the manager gave us free, cold bottles of water because it was a warm day. A lovely touch and very much appreciated!
Will definitely be recommending Vaughan Lodge to our friends and family and looking forward to staying again!

I had the most enjoyable stay in Vaughan lodge. It was my first time in lahinch. The Location was 10/10 with a 4 minute walk to the local town and main beach. Hotel staff were lovely and pleasant. Sanitizer and social distancing measures in place felt extremely safe. I will definitely be back.

Everything about hotel stays has utterly changed with the arrival of Covid-19. However, the staff at Vaughan’s ensure that everything is still perfect for your stay. The hotel clearly outlined all procedures by email prior to stay, the hotel was spotlessly clean and all efforts were made to make the stay enjoyable. The food was very good for both dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed our stay

Just home from a 2 day staycation in this fabulous hotel. Our room was perfect , a large comfortable bed , excellent bathroom with the best shower I have ever been in and every amenity in the room to enhance the stay . The Hotel is at the edge of Lahinch town and a 5 minute walk to the golf course, towncentre or beach . Lahinch is the perfect location for exploring all the wonders of Clare like The Burren ,The Cliffs , Mr Trumps golf course,Lahinch Golf course ,surfing and many other activities and venues too numerous to list . The Hotel staff were excellent and nothing was a problem and then to top it off the food is quite simply amazing . I would travel the three and a half hours just to have dinner and then drive home again . I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Vaughan’s is right up my street it’s a small family owned and operated business within a 5 minute stroll to Lahinch. From check in to check out everything was excellent.
The rooms are spotless and very generous in size they have everything you could need plus more….. a clothes line in the bathroom ideal for drying my togs after a dip in the sea! Beds are so comfortable too.
We had dinner one evening the menu is small but plenty of choice with a number of additional evening specials, there was something to suit everyone and ingredients were locally sourced. Everyone really enjoyed the dinner, I had scallops to start and halibut for my main both of which were cooked beautifully.
Breakfast each morning was a great success items cooked fresh and a great choice from fish, omelettes and poached eggs to name a few, the homemade Brown bread was delicious, I’m still thinking about it.
Our stay was so enjoyable, it’s a credit to Michael Vaughan and his team, in testing times they know what they can achieve and they do it exceptionally well.

We celebrated a 50th in Vaughans and were just thrilled with our stay. The staff were so warm and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and roomy and we ate in the restaurant and everyone's meal was delicious and the portions were generous.
We brought our own birthday cake and they supplied cream and ice cream without being asked.
There was a lovely room/bar area to relax in or read or watch the olympics. The breakfast was amazing and you can choose continental or cooked.
We will definitely come back again!
