Photos on here do not capture the magic or beauty of this place! It’s such an elegant homely place to stay on and the accommodation is immaculate as is the farm which has stables. The furnishings are all high quality and there are two lounges all with fab views of the grounds. Noreen and Michael (the hosts) are such lovely, warm friendly people! Noreen herself is an amazing cook and looks after you as if you are family giving us a warm welcome of scones, teas / coffees etc then an amazing Irish breakfast after having fruit, yoghurt, cereal etc or a delicious full-filled omelette. We literally didn’t want to leave! The house is not near any pubs to walk to but if you have a car there are loads of bars and restaurants in Ennis which is only a 15 min drive away. If you decide to stay on the farm at night there is a small fridge where you can store food or drinks and Noreen provides glasses and plates etc. and you can eat in the dinning room or in the gardens / terrace. I would highly recommend staying.

We did enjoy our one night stay here in this beautiful farmhouse in stunning surroundings. We were given a warm welcome by Noreen and our room was comfortable with a lovely view. There were no tea and coffee facilities in our room, but we were able to use the facilities in the conservatory downstairs which had a comfortable and peaceful seating area with some lovely views. The breakfast was delicious with some lovely home baked scones and wheaten bread.
Noreen recommended the Bunratty Manor Hotel for our evening meal and a separate review has been posted about this.

Noreen, the owner, was the perfect hostess! The farmhouse atmosphere/environment felt like home. Homecooked "fresh from the farm" breakfast was cooked by Noreen and her family. My mother and I shared the family room which was perfect with 2 adjoining rooms with shared bath. Really enjoyed chatting and relaxing with Noreen on the terrace. The terrace view of the farm with horses and donkey visiting us was icing on the cake! I would definitely return!

We had an unpleasant experience at our last B&B (The Cahergal House in Newmarket-on-Fergus). Upon our arrival we were greeted by a new employee. She had trouble understanding English. We were not offered tea and were given the wrong room. After our request to be moved to the room we had originally reserved, we were moved with much hesitation.
As we unpacked the car, we were greeted by the Owner, Noreen McInernery. She mentioned that she would be very busy during our stay as she was preparing for a group of 50+ german tourist that were arriving the following day for a tour of the farm and lunch. It was made clear we shouldn’t bother her.
Once settled in our room we noticed that both beds, had stained pillow cases and frayed sheets. An old used bar of soap was in the bathroom. Several of the lights were out in the bathroom and bedroom area. At breakfast the next day we were seated where someone had just left and the table cloth was covered with crumbs. The food was fine although not great. Upon returning that evening our beds were not made and our wet towels were not replaced. We were not offered meals even though they were advertised. And when we told the owner we were leaving at 6:00 the next morning, she didn’t offer to serve us breakfast. Which was something we did pay for!
During our 10 day trip we stayed at 3 different B&B’s and 1 hotel. This was by far the most disappointing due to our treatment and the actual rooms not being up to standards.

A pleasant B&B and a good welcome. Breakfast was fine but certainly not the best we had in Ireland. Room was comfortable if a little small - why have a desk but no desk chair?
WiFi only works in the lounge. Very clean but just a bit dated and a little in need of refurbishment.
It may be 4 star but based on my absolute scale across many B&Bs, I'd give it 3.

My husband and I were on our fourth trip to Ireland; County Clare is where we feel the most at home, so, after winding our way around Connemara and Galway, I decided to spend not one but two nights near Shannon Airport at the end of our holiday. We are so glad we did! We had not stayed at Cahergal before, but having stayed there during this trip, we’ll not stay anywhere else next time we visit. Noreen is a fantastic hostess, and we had a truly enjoyable stay in her home. The farm itself is gorgeous; my husband and I both grew up on a farm, so when we comment on the loveliness of the scenery and animals, it’s not simply because we’ve never seen a cow before! And boy, are those Belgian Blues spectacular… as is the house. Our room was very comfortable, with a huge bathroom and shower, and overlooked the front fields. Off the dining room was a lovely outdoor sitting area overlooking the side pastures, and we enjoyed sitting out there and having a picnic lunch the day of our arrival (Noreen kindly provided us with dishes and cutlery). Breakfasts were lovely, not just for the food (the bread and scones were divine) but more importantly, for the conversation. We found ourselves sitting down with Noreen and chatting well after our meal was done. We cannot recommend this B&B more highly. Cahergal is scenic and pastoral and feels secluded, yet is close to the motorway and a quick (5-10 minutes, depending on the fog and your comfort with Irish roads) drive to Shannon airport makes it most convenient for folks on their first or last night of vacation. That being said, I would advise you plan more than just one night here… there’s plenty to do in the area, and the hospitality was some of the best we’ve ever experienced. We can’t wait to visit again.

My wife and I stayed here last September. We had a extremely long travel time from California and were running on no sleep for almost two days when we arrived at Cahergal. Even though check in was not until 12pm, Noreen was very kind and sweet, she sent us on a stroll around the farm while she got a room ready for us so we could rest. The Bnb is beautiful and very well kept. Noreen even waited up for us when we got back that night to make sure we had everything we needed for the night. The breakfast served the next morning was by far the best I had in Europe. We plan on taking another trip to Ireland soon and we will definitely be staying at Cahergal again!

We stayed only one night. When we arrived, Noreen had dinner awaiting us which included homemade Irish Stew, mushroom soup and scones. Our room was beautiful and large with a magnificent view of the property. The bathroom was marble and also large. We had a wonderful breakfast including fresh eggs from the farm. Great people and a great place. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights during a week-long trip to Ireland. First let me say that I've never stayed at a B&B abroad before (only in the States), so perhaps my expectations were unreasonably high...
Here's the upside. The house is impeccably clean, the rooms large, the beds comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and spacious (but don't expect shampoos, extra towels, etc...). The staff are pleasant, the property beautiful, the breakfast yummy (the scones, bread, and eggs are great).
Here's the downside. The breakfast is great, but it's made-to-order and the staff take a while to realize you're in the breakfast room. If, as a tourist, you are on a schedule in the morning, you might end up eating mostly scones and bread like we did. Also, you should know that there is no internet or phone access. Maybe this is standard for a B&B, but it stunk that there was no land line from which to use our calling card and no option for internet.
When we were planning our trip, I gathered from Cahergal's website that the staff would show us where to walk around the farm, offer us use of the tennis courts, or ask us if we wanted to go horseback riding (for a fee, obviously). Not the case. Because we weren't sure where we were allowed to walk and no one from the staff was around much, we didn't explore the farm at all.
Lastly, I accidentally broke a mirror in our room - I tripped over a suitcase and hit an armoire, and the mirror hanging inside it fell out. I was asked to pay 50 euro to replace it, which rubbed me the wrong way (it wasn't a piece of heirloom furniture, and I didn't expect a nice, established B&B to make us pay the entire cost for something like that). In addition, the staff made me feel terrible about the mirror and questioned whether I'd been drinking when I broke it, which was ridiculous (it happened at around 3pm) and unnecessary. If I'd hurt myself when I broke the mirror (which I was about an inch away from doing), I doubt they would have acted like we were a couple of irresponsible kids.
Overall, the accommodations were everything we wanted, but we left there with an odd vibe. I think our experience was an abnormal one, though.

As I recall, Shannon airport is probably 15-20 min by car (we passed it en route to Adare and it wasn't far at all). You may be able to get around via taxi, but I'm 99% sure there isn't any access to public transportation. It's really best to get a car or a driver.
Thank you for your enquiry,
I have two en-suite rooms available in my guest house next door as all my rooms are booked in my b&b, I can serve breakfast at 7am. I look forward to hear back from you.
Warm wishes, Noreen.
I really can't say, so I would recommend that you call them and ask. I doubt it would be a problem, though. They are lovely people.
