My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at St Columbs House. Brian made our stay perfect from check in to check out. Our complimentary room upgrade did not disappoint and the attention to detail and cleanliness of the room was exemplary and a credit to our host.

The location of the B&B was perfect for the local walks and beaches and ideal to access the main street for shopping, food and an evening drink. Brian's local expertise and advice was invaluable when it came to working out what to do over our 3 day stay.

Breakfast set us up for the day with a choice of cooked or continental food served along with my wife's favorite Yorkshire tea and my fresh coffee.

A perfect first stay in Buncrana and will not be our last now we have discovered Brian and St Columbs House!!

We stayed four nights in this great house, Brain was amazing he was very helpful with some amazing knowledge for good restaurants and places to visit. On our last day we had to wake up at 5.30am and he was more than happy to cook us breakfast to set us up for the day. Honestly will be coming back to visit this location and filling the house with family and friends when we all come over for the next occasion. Thanks for all your help and lovely service.

My wife and I stated here on 3 September 21.
We had seen this BB on Booking. Com and from the reviews and the photos were expecting luxurious night.
First impressions were of a very grand house with an element of luxury. We had booked the delux double which we were informed was the bridal suite. The owner meet us and recommended a nearby restaurant. It was only the following morning that we got a proper look at the room.
It had a 4 poster bed which was very dusty. The mattress had not protector nor had any of the pillows. The two seater couch was very dirty and stained underneath the cushions. I had to look u der them as the. Remote for the TV fell underneath. The room was not very warm, it had underfloor heating which the owner did not want me to adjust.

On the website, the room should have came with dressing gowns and slippers, one gown was in the wardrobe, no belt to tie it and no slippers. Toiletries where also advertised but none was provided. The sink in the bsthroom was quite low and a small glass shelf sat above the taps.
Breakfast was served in a large room which most residents at one table. Not very covid compliant. Also guests had to make their own toast etc in a space which did not allow social distancing. Breakfast was adequate although there appeared to be only one choice, an Irish breakfast. Secondly all residents had to have their breakfast between 9am and 915 even though checkout was 12 o'clock.
I feel this bb could offer so much more for 110 euros for a small room and 140 euros for the delux. For this price I could have stayed at a nearby hotel with swimming pool and spa

Left St Columbs with very mixed feelings.
The host was very attentive and helpful, the location was perfect for walking into the town centre and the room was clean-so that was all fine.
However, I felt in some ways the stay didn’t live up to its details as advertised. The room was very basic, not having any tea/coffee making facilities and having no hair dryer. (We later found that there was a communal kettle in the communal lounge). Also we were not offered any cooked breakfast, which was a bit odd for a bnb.
The price was rather high at €150 considering these factors.
It looked as though the host was operating this bnb single-handedly and is a very friendly guy but is struggling to cope.

Brilliant 5 star B&B central to all bars and restaurants. We stayed in the beautiful suite with four poster bed, luxury bathroom with gorgeous views of the mountains and sea. Excellent value for money and includes an excellent cooked breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurts ect. Brian the owner is an absolute gentleman and gave us lots of great advice about the area and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this B&B.. book the suite for a little extra, you won't be disappointed!!

Just returned from a stay at St Columbs B&B and it was a beautiful place. It is central to everything you require, beautiful breakfast, fresh BOTTLE of cold water left in the room daily, clean & comfortable. Brian was a great host, full of chat & information.Perfect place to stay while on holiday in the peninsula.

This was a ment to be a relaxing time for us all, sadly it was anything but. On first glance it was a beautiful house & 2 Studios. Once we got settled in and had time to look around our rooms oh boy that's when it went down hill. We were collectively 3 couples staying in both Studios & one double room. This double room was really only suited for single person. It was anything but clean, same was the situation for the Studios we all had to go out and buy cleaning products for the bathrooms. The kitchen sink had a dirty dishcloth lying it. Floors in both bathroom & living area hadn't been cleaned after last visitors. Especially the shower room(hairs ). My sisters staying in main hse said they weren't given an option for breakfast, second morning they noticed the table cloths hadn't been replaced from day before. Breakfast was luck warm. Very very disappointing stay which was such a shame as the hse has such potential. Overall opinion for all 6 of us was that Brian needs to hire cleaners as he cannot manage everything that is required when running a B&B... To be honest we don't know how it hasn't been reported to Health & Hygiene Agencies. To whom it may concern this place needs a spot check done on it. Its a tough thing to leave this negative review but it's an Honest one. ☹️

Thrilled at the overall appearance of this B&B upon entering the driveway. Brian met us at the door fully prepared for the eight of us as if there were no challenges he couldn’t meet or exceed. From the excellently prepared fresh and delicious breakfast complete with breads, fruits, yogurts and juices not to mention the eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and coffees and teas to the clean, comfortable and homey feel of each of the rooms this is a MUST stay location. Brian is professional, knowledgeable and courteous in the performance of his duties and we couldn’t have asked for more! Bravo!! 👍👍
