We stayed for 2 nights and to say 5 star is under rating this accomodation, it's certainly a 5 star plus experience. Everything was just perfect from the location, welcome, helpfulness, cleanliness, decor and breakfast. I couldn't find fault. Brian our host was an absolute diamond, what a fantastic friendly personality. Nothing was too much trouble. One night he even made us tea at 11PM and sat chatting with us giving advise with his local knowledge. Our only regret was we didn't stay longer. We wish we lived nearer as Buncrana is beautiful and staying with Brian was an experience that we will cherish. This accomodation is the must stay place in Buncrana - you won't go wrong.
We stayed for two nights. Brian who runs the place welcomed us and was very informative about the accommodation and things to do in the area. Our room was great. Very spacious with a lovely toilet / shower room. The breakfast was good and served in an elegant dining room. The whole house has been beautifully renovated and it's a great place to stay, very close to the bars and restaurants of Buncrana.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at St Columbs House. Brian made our stay perfect from check in to check out. Our complimentary room upgrade did not disappoint and the attention to detail and cleanliness of the room was exemplary and a credit to our host. The location of the B&B was perfect for the local walks and beaches and ideal to access the main street for shopping, food and an evening drink. Brian's local expertise and advice was invaluable when it came to working out what to do over our 3 day stay. Breakfast set us up for the day with a choice of cooked or continental food served along with my wife's favorite Yorkshire tea and my fresh coffee. A perfect first stay in Buncrana and will not be our last now we have discovered Brian and St Columbs House!!
This B&B is truly beautiful. The place was absolutely spotless. Brian is a fantastic host such a lovely man he upgraded us to the master bedroom on arrival, He was very accommodating and completely made our stay more enjoyable. I would highly recommend St Columb's We will definitely be back here again. THANKS SO MUCH. x
My wife and I stated here on 3 September 21. We had seen this BB on Booking. Com and from the reviews and the photos were expecting luxurious night. First impressions were of a very grand house with an element of luxury. We had booked the delux double which we were informed was the bridal suite. The owner meet us and recommended a nearby restaurant. It was only the following morning that we got a proper look at the room. It had a 4 poster bed which was very dusty. The mattress had not protector nor had any of the pillows. The two seater couch was very dirty and stained underneath the cushions. I had to look u der them as the. Remote for the TV fell underneath. The room was not very warm, it had underfloor heating which the owner did not want me to adjust. On the website, the room should have came with dressing gowns and slippers, one gown was in the wardrobe, no belt to tie it and no slippers. Toiletries where also advertised but none was provided. The sink in the bsthroom was quite low and a small glass shelf sat above the taps. Breakfast was served in a large room which most residents at one table. Not very covid compliant. Also guests had to make their own toast etc in a space which did not allow social distancing. Breakfast was adequate although there appeared to be only one choice, an Irish breakfast. Secondly all residents had to have their breakfast between 9am and 915 even though checkout was 12 o'clock. I feel this bb could offer so much more for 110 euros for a small room and 140 euros for the delux. For this price I could have stayed at a nearby hotel with swimming pool and spa…
Have to agree with all the previous reviews. Lovely relaxing place to stay and everything you need on the doorstep. Great and helpful host and couldn't do enough. Make time for a walk along the lough shore path, perfect for an evening stroll and then return to sit on the balcony to watch the sun set.
Just returned from a stay at St Columbs B&B and it was a beautiful place. It is central to everything you require, beautiful breakfast, fresh BOTTLE of cold water left in the room daily, clean & comfortable. Brian was a great host, full of chat & information.Perfect place to stay while on holiday in the peninsula.
Definitely worth a visit. Owner really helpful and informative. Beautiful house and very clean. Great breakfast. Central location and just a walk from shops and restaurants. Large balcony to enjoy the good weather on.
Myself and my partner went on a 2 day break to this beautiful B and B as soon as we got in the front door we were made very welcome by the owner brian he couldn't do enough for us. He made us feel very welcome as if we were in our own home, and was also very knowledgeable about were to go and places to see. We will definitely be going back in the future a home away from home.
Brilliant 5 star B&B central to all bars and restaurants. We stayed in the beautiful suite with four poster bed, luxury bathroom with gorgeous views of the mountains and sea. Excellent value for money and includes an excellent cooked breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurts ect. Brian the owner is an absolute gentleman and gave us lots of great advice about the area and nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this B&B.. book the suite for a little extra, you won't be disappointed!!
