I gave a 5* rating but I wish it could have been 10*s. Personally I gave the highest ratings for ambience, cleanliness, hospitality and the most stunning location imaginable. Arriving at 3pm our host Niamh warmly welcomed us and showed us to our room, and offered us a refreshing freshly brewed coffee with lemon drizzle cake. What a great start! Our en suite room was small but well appointed and, since we were going to be out for most of our stay, it was perfect. Breakfasts were ordered in advance and cooked to order. Delicious fresh free range eggs accompanied our full Irish breakfasts that became a great start to the day and delicious as expected. The roads to our b&b were challenging but Google maps brought us successfully there. In good weather it is vital to come outside and take in the wonderful views across the lake towards the rolling Wicklow hills. Having spent 2 nights here we both came away with a wonderful feeling of calm. Tranquility takes on new meaning when all you can hear is birdsong.

A delicious breakfast. I had a lovely cheesy omelette,my girlfriend had the pancakes. Breakfast was served with a selection of home baked bread, scones, freshly squeezed juices and home made jams. The bedroom had outstanding views of the nearby lakes, and the wonderful and helpful host made this quick overnight trip for a wedding a joy.

Absolutely stunning place to stay. We booked in for one night but wish we had booked more nights. Niamh is the best host to have for all your requests & how breakfast is delicious. I would advise anyone to go and stay

Abhainn Ri was a most beautiful place to visit. Niamh was really friendly and helpful and put enormous effort into making our stay perfect. We stayed in the Garden Suite, and everything from the welcome tray of home- baked treats on arrival to the delicious breakfast looking out on the lake really enhanced our stay. The view is picture perfect, and it's an idyllic place to escape busy city life. The attention to detail is commendable-there's a boot room if you want to borrow wellies and there is a path cut through the field so you can wander down to the lake. The accommodation is spotless and the bed is as comfortable as any 5* hotel. We'll definately be back!

I had spent a great deal of time before booking the Arbhainn Ri cottages. As we were three couples we particularly liked the idea of 3 en-suite bathrooms. Unfortunately one of the bathrooms only contained a bath and a shower hose. Due to the sloped ceiling it was impossible for an adult to shower in this room. There are a lot of photos of the cottages on the different websites but it is impossible to find photos of the two upstairs bedrooms. Had I known they where to be so cramped I would not have been so keen to book the cottage. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything one would need for a self catering break, the beds where clean and comfortable however the shower unit and stairs could have been cleaned more thoroughly. In addition there is little to no information to let the customer know the cottage is semi-detached and shares a large garden space with next door therefore no privacy from your neighbours.

Lovely house overlooking Blessington Lake. Friendly welcome from Niamh who left yummy home-made scones and jam for us. House spotlessly clean comfortable beds. Can now say I cycled the Hollywood Hils every morning and having been to the more famous hills I can say wicklow outranks them by miles!

Self catering house was fantastic. Everything you could possibly need was available. Beautiful home made scones and jam were left for us upon arrival. The views are just fantastic, you really can't put into words how amazing they are. We enjoyed the farm animals and the walk down to the lake. Overall a great holiday. Would love to return someday.

We spend a wonderful week at Abhainn Ri with our young family. The views are stunning and the lake is a lovely short walk from the house through the fields. Lots of activities to keep us busy...farm walks visiting the animals, nearby bike rides and boat trip on the lake. The house was spacious, clean and inviting. Niamh was a wonderful host and her breakfast is delicious! Highly recommend a stay here. So conveniently located, although only 1hr drive from Dublin, it felt a million miles away! Thanks for a great stay!
