We went for walk in this lovely location the Blessington Greenway continues from here to russborough. Food is provided by the way of festival trucks and the bar seemed to be serving drink to anyone. Bad management under current circumstances.

Went to Avon ri to do a paddle boarding lesson on the lake with my dad, 2 sisters and boyfriend. We had a great time from start to finish, all equipment needed supplied, had a great instructor, John, who was engaging, fun and knowledgeable about all water sports and Blessington lake. Parking was only €2 for the day and there were great outdoor food trucks and outdoor seating areas for after our lesson, overall great day out especially with covid still around. Thanks John!

We recently rented two bikes from The Avon to cycle the local greenway. The staff were so lovely and the bikes were great but I was disgusted at the price of them. €60 for only a short greenway cycle of less than two hours return journey. The Waterford greenway offer adult bikes for half that price and a much more extensive and beautiful greenway. We had a nice time though. I would return if it wasn’t so expensive.

When we booked this originally we rang and requested the Friday and Saturday, we were then contacted due to a mix up with the booking. Originally we requested a room for 7 people and wore told they had availability for 6 people. Our group members took annual leave for the Friday and then when we had everything organised we received a call to state that our booking was confirmed for the Saturday & Sunday (wrong dates). The hotel realised they had mixed up the dates & as a gesture for this we wore told we’d receive a food voucher for dinner however when we arrived we received €25 voucher between the six which only covered a coffee each.
On arrival we went to check in at the coffee shop as there was no reception & the staff had no information about our booking. We then left and rang the contact we had from our emails for reservations, following this mix up we wore told to go have a drink and wait on a phone call. This is when we all ordered food from the blue bus and then bought drink from the hotel bar. 4 members of the group received gone off alcohol not only once but twice from bar staff (we did complain about this & we received 2 bottles of beer for a group of 6).
When we eventually got the keys to our accommodation it actually slept 8 not 6 and one of our group members didn’t come because we wore told it only catered for 6. There was no parking outside our accommodation because member of the public had taken it no priority to guests.
We wore told there was a restaurant on site and that evening when we went to get dinner there was no restaurant and we had to go into the town (no booking made during Covid - difficult to get a reservation last minute).
The kayaking trip booked through the Avon was very enjoyable, staff wore very friendly during it and very knowledgeable about the lakes. I’d recommend this activity.
Our second night was very entertaining due to local gangs of youths coming & going as they pleased throughout the night. They came in gangs, in cars and brought alcohol (drinking on the grounds). I think they broke the barrier also. Overall as a group of girls we felt quiet intimated during the night once security left the Avon as there was no staff available at all.
Overall the venue is absolutely stunning the grounds are beautiful and the food from the blue bus was lovely. I would recommend here for a day trip but not to stay over as it left the resort down.

Me and my boyfriend booked a weekend away in the Avon yurts. When being brought down to the yurt I was shocked at the location. Yurts are located in the gardens of the apartments, just randomly placed around the Avon. I assumed we’d have a nice view of the place and a little bit of privacy but our view is of a mental fence and the back gardens of peoples apartments
As soon as the receptionist opened the door of the yurt for us we got a horrible smell. My boyfriend immediately pointed out this was the smell of mould. There’s a dehumidifier in the corner of the room for the damp, which gave us both a headache within 20 minutes of being in the room. I got into the shower and the walls and roof were covered in mould. Imagine the smell when having a hot shower and the steam is making the mould wet. My boyfriend has breathing problems so has to keep the door slightly open, which makes the place freezing.
When we confronted reception we were told “it’s a glamping experience”. I understand it’s meant to be rustic but to be sleeping in damp and mould for €200 a night is outrageous. Disgusted at the waste of money when we could have stayed in much nicer accommodation for the price.

We recently had a family get together here after all the covid restrictions over the past few years as we had a number of things to celebrate between us all. The staff were amazing from the get go, organizing the party to the fabulous food and the service. Some of the gang were staying in Tulfarris a short distance away and Peter arranged a bus transfer for them. There are houses available in the resort to rent but were full on this occasion. The venue has stunning views out over the lake, highly recommended if planning a party. Gerry

Had a christening here recently and its been a while since we've been in the Avon and what changes!! We had heard good reports but we were made to feel very special the day of our christening. We had a range of buffet menus to choose from and the food was super! We had our own entertainment which went down a treat and later we had the option of getting food from the food court and bringing pizzas in to the bar. A great day overall and all our guests were very happy and complimentary of Orla and the whole staff. We will spread the word!!

Our family had a gathering and catch up at the Avon bar and Function rooms recently.
The staff were fantastic to deal especially Orla & Peter. We had 30 family members meeting up for lunch midweek.
The food was fantastic and presentation was equally as good.
The venue is amazing with beautiful views of the Blessington lakes. We were able to eat the relaxing atmosphere of the Avon Library bar and then enjoy the roof top beer garden.
All the family enjoyed the day and the kids were kept busy exploring the nearby activity centre.
Overall, we had an amazing day, fantastic food, wonderful customer service at an amazing venue.
Thanks everyone at the Avon

Appreciate that young attendants (in badged jackeys), may be bored, but
bouncing tennis ball around paid for parked cars is not aporeciated or appropriate. Should be trained or supervised better. Observed at least one car hit..........

Myself and my boyfriend booked into a yurt for two nights. Unfortunetably there was a technical fault where we were not informed that our stay was cancelled. This was of no fault of the avon itself but of the booking company. However, Sinéad who dealt with us in the office was extremely apologetic and accommodating. She handled it with sincere professionalism and consideration for the impact it would have had on our holiday. Thankfully there was another form of accommodation which she sorted us out with and she continued to check in on us during our stay and after. We also got SUP lessons with Tom who was very helpful, informative and some craic-Thanks to Tom our instructor. Overall (besides our mishap at the beginning) our stay was delightful. The area is picturesque and the food trucks are fantastic. We had to try all three.

Limited stations
Hi Christine, Tulfarris Hotel is about 15/20 minutes drive away, go straight through Blessington into Poulaphouca, pass the generating station you will then come to a very sharp bend in the road,go very slow and take the next left. Look out of signposts for the hotel and you will be there in a few minutes.
