Arrived after attending the game fair at Birr Castle which was a 15-20min drive. The lovely host Grainne greeted us and knew us by name, she was so friendly and polite, giving us information about the surrounding area. There is a good wifi connection. The bedrooms where beautifully set up with fab attention to detail. The bedroom was a good...

Stayed overnight on a trip to the west. Lovely and comfortable and the owner Grainne was very welcoming and friendly. Nice quiet village with nice walks along the canal. Local pub McIntyres is just perfect for a quiet drink and chat. Will definitely make a return visit.

We came along this place on our way back from the North of Ireland. It is really an amazing place. Neither a 'Must' not even a 'Should' but I wouldn't want to miss it out. It is an extremely nice place to be, the old Harbour Maters House at Shannon Harbour. The open fireplace in your bedroom is only one...

When you arrive Grainne, you host always greats you with a smile. She brings outs some glasses of Wine or Tea and cake for everyone. The B&B was the Shannon Harbour Master's House. He would collect taxes on those using the Grand Canal before it entered the Shannon River. Grainne has great morning breakfast which is included with room.
