Chose this guest house because they would accommodate our dog, but what a little find! The rooms were so clean and comfortable, quiet and spacious and really cosy. The food/breakfast was a delight, generous and tasty. The staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming, it didn't feel like their job, it felt generous and honest we loved it.

We stayed at The Stables B&B in Birr last night….it was absolutely amazing. The room was elegant, very quiet, with free car parking. The breakfast was really tasty, with a great choice on the menu and best of all……it was dog friendly, we had our two Retriever’s with us❤️🐶🐶

Beautiful old world guest house in a wonderful location in close proximity to Birr Castle. Warm host and excellent staff. Spotlessly clean and great breakfast. Would highly recommend and would happily return.

Booked a room for 2 nights. Reservation confirmed over the phone. Later got a call from an employee to say the room was not available due to a double reservation on booking.com. When challenged about why my reservation was to be cancelled (& not the one on booking.com) I was passed to the owner, Caroline who said that actually the girl who made the reservation the day before looked in the diary for 2021!! Fair enough....genuine human error....but Caroline you need to get to the bottom as to why your staff think it is ok to lie to customers!! I get that mistakes happen....trying to cover them up is the issue....I wouldn't trust any member of your staff now....

In Birr for a wedding at a nearby hotel. This is a Beautiful little boutique guesthouse on a Georgian terrace . It was welcoming, room was tastefully decorated and breakfast was beautifully presented. Staff were very friendly - was reasonably priced. Wound highly recommend

Met some friends for lunch recently - beautiful decor, excellent service (the staff were all great), delicious salads/sandwiches and the pavlova/roulade was just out of this world! Wonderfully relaxing environment, with the shop a perfect spot for a little browse. Needless to say, we will be back soon!!

Stopped off here for some lunch when passing through Birr. Definitely didn't disappoint. The food was fab I had the club sandwich and my hubby had the coronation chicken open sandwich, there wasn't much lunch options for children but ours were more than happy to only dessert instead. They had so many dessert options and they all looked fab. Lovely decor and seating area. Really nice, Definitely would recommend.

Booked a last minute stay at the stables, based on the pictures and that it was dog friendly. I wasnt sure what to expect based on the pictures. However i was blown away by the decor in the room. Flatscreen tv and nespresso coffee machine ensure the stay is top class. Breakfast the next morning was perfect! definitely recommend a stay here

Looks great in the photos. Looks better being there. You cannot underestimate how important friendly young staff are. There are so many that can’t do it. Here they obviously love their job. Lovely courtyard Proseccos, surprise gift shop and boutique and our room was just so eloquent and spacious with a near peaceful death experience bed that was that comfortable. Delicious breakfast and not forgetting the beautiful leafy street that’s beside everything but incredibly peaceful. Can’t find a fault.
