Everything there was about my brief visit to Birr was favourable, and this B & B was no exception. Situated on a quiet road on the outskirts of the town (follow the signage pointing towards the equestrian centre if your satnav is on strike) it has adequate parking, comfortable accommodation, a generous breakfast menu and a friendly propretor.
Stayed in a single room which had complimentary tea/coffee facilities and a bathrobe. Breakfast was delicious, good choice of food, lovely brown bread and homemade scones. Nice leisurely 20 minute walk into main street of Birr Town. Mary the owner very helpful and informative about the area.
Welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Room very clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast menu, plenty of choice. Level walk to local town taking about 20 minuites. Highly recommended. We enjoyed our stay.
Friendly welcome, and host had loads of suggestions about what to do / see. Mary cheerfully provided warm water to de-ice the car in the morning ! Clean comfortable room - with wifi. Off street parking. Great breakfast ! I'd stay again.
Stayed at Aonach B&B with my Husband & Mother for a family celebration in June. Mary was very friendly & looked after us so well especially my elderly Mother, switched on an electric blanket for her every night. Dropped us into Birr one night when we didn't want to take the car. Rooms very comfortable, breakfast lovely and plenty of it. Would recommend it and would definitely stay again if visiting Birr.
Very clean tidy and quiet at night while sleeping in the Aonach Bed & Breakfast. It is the best Bed & Breakfast i stayed in, while i was staying a guest stays every month to visit. Birr is a lovely town, i went for a wedding as most of you will as it has a good few venues and close to the town.
This is the best place to stay in Birr. The room is clean and cosy. You will get yummy Irish breakfast, fresh fruits, toast, ... whatever you want. Mary, the host is a very friendly, helpful and welcoming person. I've stayed here several times and I'm sure to come back soon.
I booked at short notice. Spoke with Mary, no deposit asked for just come on. A warm welcome on arrival. Lovely room and electricity blanket on bed. Just so cosy. The breakfast was wonderful. The fruit was fresh and full Irish cooked to perfection. Mary the lady of the house is a most engaging people person and makes great coffee. For me a perfect B & B experience.
This is an excellent place to stay. Mary (the owner) is extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay fantastic. The rooms are great and clean and the food fantastic. The guesthouse is also easy accessible. Will recommend it to anyone!
We booked Aonach B & B for a night stay on 11/6/2016, as we were at a wedding in Kinnitty Castle , the wedding was early at 12.30 . Mary our host was lovely allowing us to check in early ,on arrival we were offered tea coffee and biscuits a very warm welcome. Our room was lovely, en-suite plenty of room and spotless ,and i must say the most amazing pillows !!. We were introduced to Brandy the most beautiful little dog who is adored by all. Breakfast was wonderful a feast to fit a King and Queen the variety of food was wonderful i have to recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs !! I am sure we will visit again .
