we arrived late afternoon to Dooleys and were met at reception by a young lady who barely lifted her head. Not a great start. We had a meal in the bar, food was good but the table service was terrible, you would die of thirst waitn to be asked if you wanted another drink. last orders were taken at half 10 [ covid regulations] but the drinks never arrived. when I enquired if the drinks were made as we ordered cocktails, I was told no. So we just went bed. Due to the single paned sash windows every car or lorry that passed through the square woke us., thankfully it was not cold or we would have froze with the draughts that came in around the windows. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but the lead on the kettle did not reach the plug. Breakfast next morning was only ok I felt it had been sat under a heat lamp for some time..... we were not offered juices or cereal, would not consider staying here again. It is expensive and and does not live up to its billing

Stayed here last night. I booked a suite for €130. I was advised there was a late night disco but I had the quietest room in the house. The disco started at 12.00 and went on until 2.15. It was thumping and vibrating throughout the hotel. I have experienced war zones but this for volume was worse. The idea of the quietest room in the house was a joke. Overall the bathroom was not properly cleaned and the tv with only four channels was not tuned. This was both a rip off and a joke. Very disappointed and a feeling that Celtic Tiger rip off Ireland is alive and well. What a shame!

Recently stayed over night in this hotel. Room was spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped, no iron though. Decor is older but very nice. There is a nightclub beside it but we were well advised of this from the point of reservation and as we were attending a wedding in a nearby location it didn’t matter all that much. We did arrive back just as it was finishing. Music was far louder in corridor than bedroom even though we were directly over it but in honesty the level of noise from music wasn’t all that bad, wouldn’t have bothered me. Staff were so helpful & nice. Breakfast was excellent. Nice to experience good quality hot breakfast served to the table rather than usual buffet style.

Atmosphere good and staff friendly. Service was poor however, hard to get a menu then to place an order - no one came to take it. Got up and asked to place our order. Food arrived with side orders missing despite asking three times for them, came when meal was finished; no knives or forks provided. Again got up and got these ourselves. Food mediocre. No one came near us after we got our food. No one back to clear our table or ask if we wanted tea / coffee / dessert. Had to go to bar again and ask. Just weird experience all ‘round. We felt ignored and wouldn’t go back due to poor service and food. This is not some small town cafe. Prices are restaurant prices so would expect better food and service. Lunch for two with coffee €40.
