Beautiful little hotel, spotlessly clean and bed was so comfortable. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh and delicious we will definitely be back. Thanks for the recommendation for dinner Kelly's bar was an amazing pub with amazing food.
We were a large group and were very pleased with our stay! The rooms were beautiful and charming ,breakfast was delicious and better than many 5 star hotels. Management were extremely kind and helpful and went that extra yard to look after us! I have no hesitation in recommending Spinners!!
Very comfortable, large room. Tasty breakfast, and friendly staff. Parking outside - right beside the castle. Immaculately clean. In the centre of town, but in a remarkably quiet area. Would definitely stay again.
My friend and I stayed one night this week and we cannot recommend it highly enough. From start to finish we had a wonderful stay. The rooms were so comfortable, lovely decor, lovely big comfortable beds, tv, rooms so quiet and soundproof. Jordan and Clodagh were fantastic hosts. The breakfasts were made to order for each of us by Jordan. It was the nicest gluten-free breakfast I have ever had, all specially prepared, choice of juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, full Irish breakfast to order and lovely gluten-free bread (toasted to perfection), lots of tea. My friend had her own made to order breakfast also. It is so rare to receive such brilliant attention, thanks to Jordan and Clodagh. We are already planning our next trip there. Don't pass it if you want to experience a lovely stay. We cant wait to dine in the restaurant. As it was a Monday it was closed but if its anything like the breakfast we are in for a treat. The locals all spoke highly of it for dining. Thanks so much Jordan and Clodagh. See you both again soon. Betty and Rose, Dublin and Cavan.…
Overall disappointed, we changed our booking to Spinners after seeing the outdoor space, bar and food/restaurant. Booking.com description was incorrect with no food, restaurant or drink including outdoor space available Monday and Tuesday. We complained to Booking.com who confirmed that Spinners should have updated them that these services were not available M & T. We would not have booked had we known. Had to telephone to be let in. Warm greet though and parking is available right outside albeit public parking. Located right next to Castle and easy short walk into town. Nice rooms (we had 2) well decorated and comfy bed. Plenty of space in our rooms located at the front of the building. Quiet and large fan provided. Tea coffee and water provided. We called ahead to ensure our rooms were ensuite as some aren’t. Some light bulbs didn’t work including the mirror light in the bathroom making it quite dim. Bedside light didn’t work. Handle on our bathroom door was tricky and we struggled to open it from the inside. Breakfast was ok, just 2 hot options. Had to ask each day for orange juice. Horrified to find a dirty nappy in the mens toilets near the breakfast room. Staff were too when i reported it. …
What a little gem. The room was seriously of the highest standard and probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Only a 10 room B&B but with superb rooms, a great restaurant and fabulous staff, if you are thinking of visiting Birr, stay the night and enjoy the Spinners on Castle Street experience. You wont be disappointed. If you eat at the restaurant, please leave some room for the chocolate fondant and salted caramel ice cream. Its a 15 min wait that you will never forget. Thanks to Jane at the bar and Jordan for all his help.
Spent 3 nights at the Spinners with my family and I cannot recommend it enough-all the staff where very friendly and rooms spotless with a first class breakfast The location is great for visiting Birr town centre and the castle. See you all next year...
We stayed 3 nights at Spinner's. Our ensuite room was spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and well maintained. The location is on a quiet road, and we were easily able to walk to various pubs and restaurants in the town. Our host Jordan told us of a pretty little walk along the River Camcor in town. The breakfasts were generous. In addition to a cooked breakfast, we had a choice of cereals, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants, and brown bread. We highly recommend Spinners.
Spent an overnight at Spinners when attending a wedding near Birr. The hotel is lovely, really lovely decor and nice helpful staff. Parking on street right outside was ideal. The bed was really big and very comfy. Beautiful courtyard area for drinks in the sun. I would definitely return.
We booked all the rooms when my son was getting married in Birr - we all loved it! Jordan and the team were great! :) The rooms were lovely - and the food was excellent when we ate in, before and after the wedding. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Birr or the surrounding area.
